Oregon beat Michigan 69-68 to punch their ticket to the Elite Eight. All of the naysayers who called the PAC 12 weak to try and advance their own agenda are looking bad. The PAC 12 is showing they are a strong basketball conference

michigan's big men did not impress

Pac-12 was strong at the top, pretty weak after the top 4. Altman has done a very good job at UO and has them consistently one of the better programs in the nation. I don't see that ending anytime soon...he's already signed a top-notch recruiting class for next year.

Arizona s Miller screwed up his team s chances. Xavier pulls it out at the end
Gotta give Xavier a lot of credit, more so than Miller's coaching. Each time it looked like Arizona was about to pull away, the Muskateers battled back, to my surprise. Sometimes heart & hustle can carry a team a long way, especially in close games.

Miller getting criticism for being out coached down in Arizona. Certainly the sloppiest I have seen them play at both ends. The interior defensive break downs were as bad as their shooting

Well Arizona went down to a lesser team. UCLA got thoroughly outplayed in a big game. L Ball looked almost ordinary during the game especially on defense. He looked bad and almost lost on defense.

Yet another try at distortion, Mr. Trump. The only naysaying, even if one could call it that, asserts that the EK-led Cougs and the other bottom feeders are simply weak sauce, much like most of what you post.

The steady stream of one-and-done players might get some programs (U-dumb is the exception) into the tourney every year, but it goes only so far.

I would love to see how Oregon would have done with Boucher healtyh UCLA got beat by a superior team Arizona s coach is to blame for rhe 'weak sauce" at the end of the game. Amusing! Cheers!

Well the ducks did not need Boucher, The ducks are representing a strong PAC 12 conference well. let s hope they can continue.

What is great is that there are two teams from the West in the final four. I know some people do not like the Zags but they have a strong team.I hope that one of these two teams wins it all, The crap and weak sauce about the Eastern teams being so dominant gets old after a while.

There were probably only 4 teams in the west even capable of making elite 8 and 2 of them made final 4.

I was at the game in Kansas City last night and I was impressed with the intensity that Oregon was playing at. They made a normally fierce and fast KU team look tired.

One wonders since all of the media portrays all the ACC teams and Big 10 teams as being capable of the Elite Eight. It is pure nonsense. People believe what is spoon fed to them by the media whose announcers tend to be from the conferences which get the most attention and money. The hype disappears as the Tournament gets underway. It would be nice if the two western teams make the final. But i think Oregon in playing without Boucher may finally be out manned in the Final Four. it may be Gonzaga which carries the banner for the Western teams

I like Oregon over Gonzaga except for they have the tougher side of the bracket to negotiate. They have been pushed by good teams to get where they are and have survived. They are battle-tested. Gonzaga has been pushed, but by lesser teams. They may not be truly tested until the championship game.

Hype or reality? Let’s take a look at facts coming into this season.

Fact: The last Pac-12 school to make the final four is UCLA in 2008. Pac-12 has been in the final four just 4 times since 2000, UCLA made it 3 times Arizona, once.

Fact: ACC has made the final four 13 times since 2000.

Fact: Big-10 has made the final four 14 times since 2000.

Fact: Big-East has made the final four 10 times since 2000.

Fact: SEC has made the final four 8 times since 2000.

Fact: Big-12 has made the final four 8 times since 2000.

I know it doesn’t fit your narrative, but it appears the “media bias” for conferences and schools not located on the west coast is based on the plain truth whether we like it or not. Good for Oregon and Gonzaga for reaching the final four this year…but it’s going to take some sustained success by west coast schools to reach the levels of these other conferences.

Perhaps ,the officiating has something to do with it? The media bias and hug sums of money may have a bigger influence on the game than one would hope, Seedings ,and assignments to Regional s for the favored teams seem to happen too often to be a coincidence.

When was the last time a Pac-12 team won the title? Take a look at what has occurred in the NCAA's the past 20 years. The power has been all in the East/Midwest/SouthEast.

Just like in college football.

It will be a gradual shift back to the West. Football will also see a shift as Alabama will be strong but they will not win this coming year. The balance of power will shift. N Carolina is carrying the banner for the ACC . I think that Gonzaga has the best team ,but they have to prove it. So perhaps your Question may be when was the last time a Western team won the title? The last time two Western teams were in the final four was 1998 when Utah and Stanford made it.

I picked UNC to win it all (over AZ, which would've been awesome to have two P12 teams in the FF), so I'm rooting for them.

I'm not rooting for GU. If Oregon won I wouldn't be crushed.

I really wish it was So. Carolina v. UNC and Oregon v. GU in the Final Four games - it would be really interesting then.

I wish Gongaga had to play UNC. Except for WV (#4), they have had a pretty favorable draw. Now facing #7

The whole left side of the bracket was a trash set up. Like c'mon...UNC, Kentucky and UCLA all in the same bracket? Throw Kentucky on the opposite side for Duke or something and they're probably playing in the title.

I see GU getting to the championship but I think NC might take them to the wood shed. Not a talent issue but I think GU for all their trips has never been on this stage before.

I would put my money on the Zags if it is in the championship game. North Carolina relies on its frontline and i think that the zags have a better front line
