Actually, I just watched a YouTube tutorial on going to a specific website to download HI-RES album artwork, then you can basically upload it to your favorite photo service, like Snapfish, or VistaPrint to create your Album Wall Artwork.

Pretty Cool.

Like I said, Clapton, Gilmour, and Knopfler are some of my most favorite groups/acts, but although I love listening to them I just think that their voices are not at the top of their profession. I think of the smooth qualities of Elvis, Orbison, and the like.

That's true that their voices are not at the top of their profession, but we're not talking about that.

The topic, is those who had, Have, POOR, BAD, voices.

And candidates for that are Weird Al, Pee Wee Herman, BARNY(the purple dinosaur that sings I love you, you love me, we are, can be a family(That Barny) etc, NOT any of the others on the list, unless they are a screecher, screamer, undead sounding singer(example Slayer, Iron Maiden, Anthrax, Megadeth, etc, as examples), etc.

On CD isn't the issue. Virtually anyone sounds good in a studio setting. It is listening to these same singers live, Robert Plant included, that is the big let down. What singers sound as good, live, as their studio work? Orbison, Franklin, they impressed me live. Rock vocalist in general are a big let down on stage.

Annie Lennox, Pat Benatar, Lita Ford, Bangles, Cindy Lauper, Belinda Carlyle, Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, Def Leppard, Europe, Great White, Bon Jovi, Survivor(Eye of the Tiger), Kenny Logins, Robin Zander(In this Country(Over The Top(Movie), Journey(Steve Perry), Foreigner, Scorpions, Van Halen, David Coverdale(Whitesnake)Chicago, Starship, Air Supply, Cars, The Who, Wham, Firehouse, Poison, Bryan Adams, ALL had FREAKING AWESOME SINGING VOICES, as ROCK singers.

But that said, your right, that they are the exceptions, as most of the ROCK singers are not that good.

A lot of the country singers of that era could make the list. But Dylan is the king of successful singers with bad voices.

Other candidates:

Eddie Vedder
axl Rose
Britney spears
Jack White
Madonna
Anyone who ever put out a rap album

To be fair, Britney and Madonna were never really famous because of their singing.
I agree about Bob Dylan. He sounds like the Chipmunk’s when singing live.
