I can, could see a 8,9, 10 win Pac 12 North team(not Ore St, as they get 5,6,7 wins at most), either petitioning to rep the Pac 12 south in the Pac 12 Championship game, to goto Rosebowl, or petitioning arguing that to play in the Pac 12 Championship game, goto Rosebowl, that you must have a MINIMUM of 7,8 overall wins, and a minimum number of Pac 12 wins, whatever that is, to even be in Pac 12 Championship game, with Winner going to Rosebowl.

Last year was a Joke, rediculous that a 6-6, 7-5, Pac 12 south team, was even in the running, almost made it to the Pac 12 Championship game, where if they would have then won, would have gone to Rosebowl, at 6-6, 7-5.

And its not just Pac 12 fans, Pac 12 North teams, players, coaches, fans, etc, that think that its rediculous that a 6-6, 7-5 Pac 12 team could goto the Pac 12 championship, Rosebowl, over a Pac 12 north team with 10 wins.

If a 6-6,7-5, Pac 12 South team, goes to, wins the Pac 12 Championship game, goes to Rosebowl, the Big 10, Rosebowl, Sports News Media, other 10, 11 win teams, across the country, that didnt get to a NY6 bowl, will put a LOT of pressure, on the Pac 12, Rosebowl, Big 10, to either change the Rosebowl Selection Rules, an or minimum win requirement, etc.

The minimum overall wins to goto Pac 12 Championship game, Rosebowl, should be 8 wins, a 8-4 record. If you win your division, with 6, 7 wins, and there is a divisional, Pac 12 team with 8+ wins, and the most wins, best, an or 2nd best Divisional, Pac 12 record, etc, they go instead. If there are no teams in Pac 12 with 8+ wins, then no Pac 12 rep, and some other 9,10,11 win team from another P5 conference gets the Pac 12 Rosebowl spot.

Thats how it should be, and that's how it will probably be at some point in future, If a 6-6, 7-5 Pac 12 team goes to Rosebowl either over a 8+ win Pac 12 team, an or if best team in Pac 12 is 6-6, 7-5.

So while the petitioning to Rep the Pac 12 South in the Championship game thing was probably a joke, that may end up being more then a joke, a Pac 12 team, others might complain, petition, pressure the Pac 12, Rosebowl, etc.

Stop it. No one's petitioning to change anything. This happens sometimes and it's not a Pac12 thing.

Pitt made it to the ACC Champ game last year at 7-5 and finished the year 7-7.

You get that sometimes when you break a league into divisions.

And if Utah had won the Pac12 CG, they would have been 10-4 going into the Rose Bowl. No one is complaining about that.

ive got osu over Hawaii, Stanford I would pick over USC except they lost their qb, and I have Colorado over Nebraska.

They both lost their QB, but Stanfords is at least questionable for tomorrow. USC is out for the year.

There are times where I just don't understand where you are coming from. Imbalance between divisions has been going on as long as divisions have existed. The Big 12 North was incredibly dominant over the Big 12 South in terms of conference record for years....and then it flipped and the South was better than the North. In 2004, 7-4 Colorado played OU in the Big 12 championship game while 10-1 Texas watched the game from home. Until Georgia's recent resurgence, the SEC West was clearly far superior to the SEC East and still has far more quality depth. Alabama didn't win it's division at 11-1 a few years ago and had to watch the SEC championship game on TV. "Better" teams miss out on championship games all the time. So, as mentioned by others above, it doesn't really matter if a crappy team from the South wins the division....it's just how things go. The vast majority of times, the clearly better team from the other division wins the conference championship game and it's a bunch of noise about nothing.

Next, you are rambling on about something that's unlikely to happen. Right now, Utah is projected to finish at 11-1 (8-1). The South looks so bad right now that it's going to take some injuries for them to miss the Pac-12 championship game. If the crazy does happen and 7-5 (6-3) UCLA ends up representing the South in the championship game and wins.....who's fault is that? You don't upend all of the rules of a system when the result doesn't go your way. You need to be better and not lose to a team like that. FWIW, 8-3 Purdue represented the Big 10 in the 2000 Rose Bowl because their whole conference sucked. Did the Big 10 suddenly lose credibility and relevance nationally? Nope. Ohio State played in the national championship game in 2002 anyway.

Any issues that we have from a perception standpoint are systemic and go far beyond one game and one division. Division imbalances are cyclical and usually work out. The only thing that I'm worried about is the potential damage that Larry Scott is doing to our conference as a whole.....and that's got nothing to do with the imbalance between the divisions right now.

didn't know that, thanks for the info-my thinking is usc is always loaded, their backup qb will be able to step right in and may be even better than what they were starting......Stanford not so much.

During the Furd/NW game last week they said the back up was the number 1 QB recruit in his class, or something along those lines, during the game he looked meh, but after a week of #1 snaps he may look better.

Not sure mika, but in that scenario yielding to the wishes of protesters, picketers or petitioners — or any combination of the three — might, could, or very possibly would open a can of worms.

No-brainers:
ASU over Sacramento St.
Utah over N.Illinois
WSU over N Colorado

Didn’t think hard about:
UA over N. Arizona
Oregon over Nevada

Still feel pretty good, but hesitated:
UW over Cal
Stanford over USC

51/49:
UCLA over SDSU
Colorado over Nebraska
Oregon State over Hawaii (Hawaii can’t stop OSU....but can the Beavers stop Hawaii?)
