Can those ten use a strategy from a very successful Donald Trump playbook to delay delay delay ?

How long could those ten stall for because I would imagine they know we are desperate for money and they delay and delay until we settle. Can this drag on for years before we receive money ?

Don’t be fooled. They need money. They need a settlement too. They’re all broke besides maybe USC, Stanford and Oregon. The longer the drag this out the worse it is for them as well.

They expected to lose at trial. Announcing that they would seek to appeal directly to the Washington Supreme Court is a delay. I'd ballpark the potential delays on appeal at three years.

But remember, in the meantime, WSU and OSU can basically hold all the cash and refuse to make any distributions.

They want the TRO to stay in place not so they can starve WSU and OSU but so they can mediate and get money.

WSU and OSU probably will have no issue using reserves while this is tied up in court since there is literally like a 1/2 billion in revenue sitting there. I honestly can’t say that UW and them will feel the same way. They’re already pressed for cash.

Regarding lawyers (you know, the title of this thread), I scanned the bios of the WA Supreme Court Justices. Does anyone think we will get a far hearing from them? Things I noticed from the scan:

• 7 of 9 are female
• Looks like at least two are lesbian
• At least two are uw graduates
• Did not see a single reference to WSU
• One was from Spokane
• All others had strong ties to Seattle, from birth, education, and/or work and volunteer activities
• Believe two were graduates of Seattle U Law school
• One was Asian/Latino/gay

Bottom line is that there is a very strong bias towards uw/Seattle/Olympia/Puget Sound/liberalism and very little connection to WSU and the east side of the state. I fear we are very likely to get ambushed as they buy into the twisted theories and arguments brought forth in Tuesday's hearing. You know, like giving notice is not giving notice, and schools being removed from the board after giving notice really didn't happen.

Sadly, I have little faith in the legal system any more.
