If Kelsey has gotten Winthrop to the NCAA's at least 1,2 times, or gone deep into the NIT 2,3,4 times, if didnt make NCAA's, then a good prospect.
Its a mixed bag. Tho Winthrop is a small college that is harder to get to the NCAA big dance tourney, Winthrop has made the big dance a number of times, and makes the NIT a lot.
While its harder to recruit to Winthrop, Winthrop has recruited well.
Because of that a lot of coaches could succeed at Winthrop.
Conceivably a coach who was awesome at Winthrop could struggle at WSU.
That said, the coach has a great, awesome resume, coaching history. Not too young, not too old. Likely can recruit well at a lot of places, whether big or small, etc.
Can he overcome WSU's challenges? I dont know, maybe.
But that said, he would be a lot better then Bone, Kent, Eastman, Graham, and probably at least equal to Kelvin Sampson at Kelvin Sampsons worst.
Good Move by Chun. Hope Kelsey gets hired. If he doesnt, hopefully Chun continues trying to make this kind of hire.
