This is linked through the Twitter feed on the front page, but I don't see a discussion here:

There's at least preliminary talk of moving or postponing the home opener against Portland State due to wildfire smoke. Pullman's air has been pretty bad for the last week, and if that continues, it's reasonably likely that a change will be made. A soccer game was already postponed, and although changing a football game is logistically much tougher than that (and more costly, potentially), based on existing policy that's what will happen.

Of course, it's hard to predict whether the policy will hold up to a 7-figure financial impact, but it is what it is...

We obviously need to do what is best for the fans and the players, but that would suck. I'm ready for some football.

There was an update on KJR about the possibility of moving the time of the game. It would suck, but it is one game and safety first.

We need some thunderstorms to blow through.

It will rain on some of the fires this weekend, which will help a little, and it is expected to cool down by about 20 degrees next week. Getting this game in before the Rutgers games is a must IMO, so let's hope the weather improves.

This possibility of a postponement would be a financial disaster for the school and fans, including yours truly. The lady's soccer team managed to get in a game Monday without any physical impairment that I could detect so this gives me hope. Just the fact that postponement is being mentioned as possible gives me concern. And, yes, as 405 mentioned, going back to Jersey without previous experience on the field could be disastrous.
