He will miss 3 exhibition games and make it back in time to coach vs. Texas. I hope they pull through against Dixie State.

His press release announcing his suspension to GU released through his PR firm, the SR.

Wow! That is really harsh punishment! Especially considering 3 Hail Marys, six weeks of rehab and a job transfer, is the punishment for child abuse.

Did anyone in the hard hitting Spokane media ask whether Few was seeking professional help for his drinking during his little sabbatical?

I see...the answer to that would be “no”.

Professional help for his drinking?

Like a liquor store delivery service or a DUI "How to" course taught by Uncle Dennis?

Is it a coincidence that 2 of the 3 or 4 major issues with the law gu basketball has had over the last 20 years occurred outside of Spokane where the players and coaches spend 95% of their time?

The answer is no.

WSU athletes who jaywalk in Pullman are cuffed and stuffed on a regular basis. If you think the gu program isn’t given a free pass for most their transgressions you would probably be mistaken.

Gotta love Gonzaga. As a religious based institution you'd hope they'd have a higher ethics/moral standard, not lower. I guess they were just overjoyed Few didn't have a couple of boys in the back seat when he got pulled over. And people wonder why the fastest growing religious denomination in the US is "none."

I don't understand the punishment but I'm not sure what other programs have done under the same circumstances. It feels more like what you would do with a player. He's not a kid that made a bad decision and needs a wakeup call. Few's almost a 60 year old adult. If he has an alcohol issue get him some help not a weak 3 "game" punishment. GU fans have even pointed out they added a second exhibition game after the DUI. He get's 3 "games" but back for UT. The season is more important than the transgression. I'm actually fine with that. If he doesn't have an issue and others things aren't getting swept under the carpet then say that and move on.

I'm pretty sure Hatchett will write another couple articles about Rolovich before anything on Few. If he does write something it will be with the huge kid gloves reserved for tha that program per usual. Different story if this was Kyle Smith just like it was Heytvelt or Perkins versus Klay Thompson.

Its a little tricky. There is no doubt that there are countless famous coaches who were flat out drunks, and now days are expected to keep their drinking under wraps (i.e. Mike Price). Drinking and driving can not be tolerated, and as I have posted earlier, it is a near certainty that 1 DUI equals 10 times he was pulled over and given a warning when he was recognized as a local celeb. Plus, coaching at a Catholic college sort of gives a license to drink, am I right?

So I'm not sure what the appropriate punishment should be. This kind of feels right. There is a degree of public humiliation and he will return a little diminished. There might even be a few humorous signs and skits when the Zags take to the road....
But he still will have ample opportunity to redeem himself. I do hope that some degree of alcohol treatment is included in the punishment.

Actually respect the fact that he plead guilty and didn’t try to find his way out with a high dollar attorney.

I would assume his attorney counseled him there wasn't much to fight with the combination of his BAC he requested at the hospital and being reported for swerving around the road. Regardless, it's good he took responsibility although I'm not sure why he was able to get around a day in jail. Idaho must have different rules but a fine, 24-hour in jail, community service, and 3 month suspended license used to be the rule in Washington.

Hopefully this is all just a one off.

EDIT: Few took responsibility for his actions during the hearing and said he was “pleading guilty because I am guilty,” according to court records.

Credit where credit is due. Many people in general let alone "very important people" wouldn't acknowledge guilt.

Few driving before DUI stop. It's from vehicle that called him in. Passes at least 5 cars going the other direction. Lucky Few, right? He hits a car that's a totally different deal.

He was either massively distracted or drunk off his keister. Lucky he didn’t kill anyone.

And he's paying the ultimate price. He'll miss the 2 exhibition games and the opener vs. Dixie State. That ought to learn him.

Glad Cougar

Next up is the police dashcam where he lies about drinking. Next up after that is @**hat Blanchette scolding the WCC for being jealous and WSU for all of it's "ills".

Yes- there will not be any critical pieces that are written without consent/approval of Few.
Anyone covering Gonzaga basketball without access to Few is no longer covering Gonzaga basketball.

Wow so "great guys" from Spokane (like ones that lie to the police, refuse to get out of the vehicle or do field sobriety test, and use expletive language during the arrest) dont spend a night in the drunk tank in CDA? Sure there are some "great guys" out there no too happy to hear that. Sounds like that officer talking to him at the hospital was implying that the arrest only happend because the arresting officer didnt know he pulled over THE Mark Few. Wonder if CDA PD is getting more plack for this then Few?

While within his rights for most that's a ticket straight to jail after the hospital. Longer version from TMZ.
