Santa Clara has size and length we will need to deal with and DJ Mitchell looks pretty talented.
Smith will obviously know them from USF days. Looking forward to seeing what Shead, Bonton, and Williams can do game 2. Vova to if he were to play.

WSU's defense is playing good enough to win.
Not taking away from SC's defense, but A LOT OF LAY UPS, FREETHROWS, OPEN 3 POINTERS, etc, that at least SOME TO MOST SHOULD HAVE BEEN MADE, HAVE BEEN MISSED.
Also a lot of UNFORCED Errors, Turnovers.
When you cant hit a OPEN shot, freethrow, and make unforced errors, your not going to win, no matter how good your own defense has played, and no matter how good or bad your opponents defense has been.
Still that said, the team has still looked A LOT better the Kent's teams.

Wasnt Just CJ that was shooting bad. The WHOLE TEAM was shooting bad, missing wide open lay ups, mid range jumpers, freethrows, 3 pointers as well as contested shots by a good SC defense.
Bonton had a great game tho.
And the team looked a lot better then Kent's teams.
And the game was dead even for most of the game until about the last 2/5 of the 2nd half.
Also SC is good, make waves in WCC.

Agreed. CJ had a rough game all around......5 turnovers, only 1 assist, and only 2 rebound while fouling out...to go along with 1-7 from three and 4-14 overall. As a team, WSU won't win shooting 33% for the game. On the bright side, Bonton is really good going to the hoop (wish he could hit from outside) and the defense forced a lot of turnovers. Very good hustle and they kept battling even after falling behind by 14. Can't go 7 scoreless minutes and hope to beat a pretty good team like the Broncs. Good learning experience, hopefully.
