Sadly I just saw that the Button Down Guy, Bob Newhart, has passed away. His comedy was pretty off the wall, classic, and generally non-offensive. I still have a couple record albums of his.

Check out this visit of Bob on the Tonight Show with Carson. At least get through about the first 6 minutes as he talks about being 1/4 German and uses the accent to talk about Volkswagons. I laugh over and over at that part!

My Dad loved Bob Newart. One of his favorite shows was 'The Bob Newhart Show' (and later the 'Newhart'). So of course I watched and laughed along. I can still hear my Dad laughing at the Thanksgiving episode when Bob and company get smashed and they order Chinese food. "More moo goo gai pan". RIP

My brother and his wife will be attending the funeral next Wednesday. Very sad.
