NM. I misread a tweet. Just a guy HOPING we hire him… Still wouldn't that be a dream come true...
---------------
Rumor has it, Mack Strong, former Seattle Seahawk Fullback, has been hired onto the WSU football team. Rumored that his wife just finished her PHD and has been hired at WSU as a professor, thus "completing" the transition for them to become a part of the Cougar Family…

Anyone hearing these rumblings? If so, wouldn't this show a HUGE point of emphasis for how CML is looking at moving the WSU team forward?!

Bump… to clarify.

If true, I think he'd be a great addition.
My bad. He isn't being hired. Just a tweet from a guy that was hoping for it. Apparently his wife is hired at WSU permanently but that is all. Seems like having Mack Strong running around Pullman because he lives there with his wife (assumption there) might be an opportunity, though.

If his wife was hired by WSU, I wonder if she will teach in Pullman or at another campus? Maybe Everett?

I've always liked Strong as a player and also his presentation in interviews. This is a rumor I would like to see come true.

Even if they did hire him what would be his function? Just a guess, but I would venture to say with his dealings in Seattle and if his wife is working in Pullman, that he will be a commuter guy, meaning half time in one area, half in the other.

I Reeaaally want to make sure people realize, I'm not trying to start a rumor. From everything I can gather, there isn't even contact between our football program and Mr. Strong. There's just nothing out there. Just me mis-reading a tweet. There was a tweet about how great it would be, it got re-tweeted by several and I misread. That is all. So we can talk about this but I want to make sure people know, I posted something that wasn't true and I tried to rectify this as quickly as possible.
But this made up scenario really goes to the heart of Mr. Strong. He may not want to be a coach. He may… But regardless, cool that SHE is a part of Cougar Nation...

Yes and thanks for bringing this hire to our attention. Mack Strong is a great addition to Mike Leach's staff... kidding.

I was only commenting on the concept of a Strong addition to the staff. Your earlier clarification was understood.

I think you were clear about that. I am just wondering if he was approached what would he have to offer the program, whether on the field or in the office.

I hate rumors so I wanted to be excruciatingly clear. :)

I think on the field, if he wanted to be a coach, he would be a pretty good influence. He's known. A full-on RB coach? Who knows, we have one and I think a good one. But support for Mastro? Hell yeah. PLUS, I think he would be exceptional on the recruiting trail. It would sure put every team on notice, you better watch our running game…

Now do we have room, as we are limited on the number of coaches? I know we are full on that point.

I also think 1990 has a good point. Mrs. Strong could be hired for just about any branch campus, i.e. Everett… A strong (no pun intended) possibility so that Mr. Strong can continue his endeavors on the West side.

Is Mr. Strong's show on, what was FSN, still on, on Root? He did have a pretty good show on FSN that was kind of an "insider" style show for the Seahawks… ?

The problem with coaching is unlike the NFL, they can only have so many field coaches. He would have to be a "grad assistant" to be on the field.
