Who is gonna block? Are they gonna coach the kids they have now? Or get new kids?

And none of them can push anyone out of the way. So who is gonna do it?
Oddly enough... I had been thinking about this quite a bit. I swear we had guys that seemed to look weaker than what we went against.

I don't know if it was:

1) Our guys were soft and sucked... it's on them

2) Our coaches had bad formations

3) Our coaches called bad plays

4) Our weightlifting and conditioning created beach front cake boys

5) We were just stupid on who we signed / recruited.

I can't think of a single game this last year where there wasn't an Olineman on the other team where I thought "I wish we had that guy instead of half of ours".

Except for everyone on fuw's squad.

It’s rare that I look at another team’s O-line and wish we had one of their guys. But it’s been pretty common to look at our team and wish we didn’t have them.

Pretty much all of the above. Leach recruited the OLine brilliantly…since we weren’t gonna get blue chippers, find dudes who had frames that could be added to and were mean MFs who liked to hit. Dillard, Abe, Cody, there are a few more I’m forgetting.

We might find out that Dickert and his staff weren’t very good, or Rogers might really struggle.

Leach had to run the air raid with Wulff’s players. There will be struggles.

Send the entire O line out to do the post game interview. That seemed to help

Lol it wont. The kids have been failed by DickTurd’s strength coach. You can’t make up in 1 off season what needed to be done over 3-4 years.

Good riddance to DickTurd and his shitty staff. Top to bottom, fire anyone left.

And now the new coach shows up with what he wants to do and has to go get kids that can do it. Otherwise his offense will be a disaster.

I realize that, I was sarcastically referring to a Leach move after a loss in his early years when he send the whole O line out for the post game interview.

Oline is a concern, it starts by getting guys you can develop and then it is what you can do with them in the weight room, and then coaching them up. Not sure how they are going to get there, but it's a major issue to say the least. The main reason we have been a passing team all these years is we didn't have the line upfront to run block, becoming a running team is not something you can turn around overnight.

There are 2 ways to get there. Have kids that are physically powerful enough to move someone out of the way that is also trying to move them out of the way OR you beat them with numbers. You line up 2 TEs and have 7v4. You have every block available to you. You have almost doubled their numbers at the line of scrimmage.

The only guy Ive seen that is running the ball without a physical OL is Coach Codutti down in Houston. Want an interesting youtube video to watch? Search Coach Codutti. So maybe 3 ways if you run wide zone like he does.

If Im being honest, part of me wants to see Power I or Sing Wing football. Im bored of watching the Air Raid.

And fwiw…. if you are limited in funds for paying your offense, the best thing you can do is pay more for OL in a run heavy scheme. Remove yourself from chasing a pass blocking LT. Remove yourself from paying WRs and passing QBs. Find 6’4” 320lbs nicknamed Fat Back, Pork Chop, Diesel, etc. Get TEs that are 6’5” 215lbs and grow them into 255lbs. There are a zillion kids that wanna play WR and RB. Pay the move the chains kids that cost less, not the gamebreakers that cost more. Press play. Essentially find a way to pay 10% less to your offense while making it go… and put that 10% into your defense…
