Wouldn't be surprised if he was fired in about a half hour.

Oregon is embarrassing them badly.

By the way they were playing...it appears they were throwing the game. Can't focus with Urban Meyer haunting their dreams.

He’s toast. If Helton always wanted the Air Raid he should have installed it 3 years ago with Darnold.

Reggie Bush gripes about the run game being missing more than I do lol.

SC can run any scheme and win. Any scheme. Pick one. Get a bunch of 4 and 5 star kids. Run with it.

To take this level of talent and have Oregon drop that number on you at home???? He should he oit of work right now.

SC reminds me of an orchestra full off exceptional musicians......all playing different songs. Some get up, wander behind the horn section and take a leak, others quit playing and light a smoke, others pull out their cellphones and call their moms/girls/bail bondsman.

Graham H......you made a YUGE mistake signing on to that gigantic flaming bag of dogshit. What an undisciplined disaster.

It reminds me of people who think they can be a little bit pregnant. For many things; many systems; heck, even many cultures; it is all or nothing. Maybe you can tweak a few things around the edges, but the system is the system, and trying to be King Solomon and cut the baby in half between two systems doesn't work. I think the Air Raid is an example of that.

SC looks like a half baked version of the Air Raid. I guess conceptually it probably sounds good...or at least you can make it sound good...but if you can't make this Frankenstein's monster of an offense work with 4 and 5 star kids, then either the ratings were wrong, the culture is failing or the system just won't work. In this case it may be a little of each, but it seems like the kids don't believe in it. Which means they don't believe in their coaching staff.

Does anybody see it differently?

This is exactly what you get when the HC doesnt buy in. From the top down, no one is sold on the offense. If they were truly an AR team, they have the talent to be undefeated. Undefeated and running teams off the field. Best WRs in the league, always have good backs and OL. SC should be pitch and catch up and down the field.

Coaching matters.

The announcers last night went on and on about the number of injuries that USC has at the RB position, fwiw. Funny, when Cougs have injuries they are never cut any slack.

OP nailed it, talented individual parts but not a TEAM, and that falls on the coaches

Watch how Kansas State plays, not a lot of highly ranked players but they are sold out to playing as a TEAM

It will be interesting to see how this shakes out. Some people are saying that Urban should not be considered due to off the field issues. They are promoting Baylor s coach, Stoops and a couple of other guys.We shall soon see if they are right

With a new AD strongly rumored from Cincy, there is a good chance that the HC search is informally proceeding as we speak.

They don't have to have Urban Meyer, a lot of good coaches-especially at the mid major level could make them a top 5 power.

It never ceases to amaze me how these ADs and search firms botch hires.

If they gave me 10 grand and 4 weeks, I could come up with a good hire, its not that hard.

Matt Campbell would be high on my list, and it wouldn't be hard to pry him from ISU.

Chris Peterson is being listed as a candidate, not sure the fanbase would accept the 5-4 dumpster fire the mutts are having though :D

In retrospect CP is now getting slammed by many a UW fan because he couldn’t get them that other 1/2 national championship that think they are entitled to...remember how they all thought this was the year? Yeah...If I was him I’d strongly consider making that move. If you’re going to be in a pressure cooker to deliver at an elite level, you might as well be at a program where that can be possible.

When they found out their sled dog was really a poodle.

Yeah, but they got Smalls!! CogDisability is already swinging from his nutz and banking on SS bringing them back to their glory days.

For now they do. Not convinced he will sign. Oregon has already retaken the PAC 12 mantle and as soon as SC gets a coach they won’t be losing out on SoCal talent to UW. The window has closed, and UW is trending back towards mediocrity. Petey may have piled up wins in the MWC, but he’s overrated AF, and can’t coach QBs a lick.

I would upgrade that to there being a 100% chance that the HC search is frantically proceeding as I type. Will be interesting to see who ends up as HC at USC considering that Bohn's selections while at Colorado were less than sterling. That said and as others have noted, any decent selection will thrive in USC's environment. USC has the money to almost take their pick. Cannot imagine Urban Meyer being chosen considering USC's and Meyer's previous off field problems.

On a side note, it will be worth watching to see where Graham Harrell ends up.

USC has not had a good coach since Carroll left. One name now being tossed out there Is James Franklin from Penn State

Wtf would franklin make that move? I’d say Penn State is a better job right now than SC. Coliseum is a dump and Happy Valley is one of the better venues in the country. I’d think only upward move from Franklin would be NFL. USC must be flying some huge $$ if they are trying to lure guys from programs like that.

Franklin is not a top tier coach imo and it would be good for WSU if they make that blunder

I am r only eporting on the names tossed around. But yes USC has plenty of money to throw at a coach.

Franklin is also from PA. I think he's there for the long haul.

CP to $C would be interesting to watch unfold.

CP has to be getting sick of his fan base, they are calling for a qb change and to bench all the starters. They also claim CP has to change his "approach" and demeanor"

Personally, I think Meyer is damaged goods. Scandal at OSU seemed to take a lot out of him. If he takes the job I wonder if it's just for the money, for however long they will keep him. Things like that often happen when an organization is desperate and decides to throw money at a problem.

I think Meyer was burned out bad, but would only come back for Notre Dame(is what ive heard several places), USC could be a blue chip job if they throw enough money at him.

Willie Taggart is available.

The next two months will be interesting, you have 2 high profile programs looking for new coaches, and there will be more, and then there is usually a ripple effect throughout the rest of college football. This might be the only time the UCLA loss works in our favor. Hard to sell a 4 million a year coach to your alumni when you recently blew a 49-17 lead.

Willie Taggart will be the answer to a FSU trivia question someday. His days of coaching a top 25 program are over. He better hang onto his money, because he'll never see anything like it again.

Well, he’s getting $17.7 million to not coach anymore at FSU. At 6 percent, he’ll get over a $1,000,000 per year by just investing it.

Why not just coach high school football somewhere? Make a difference in kids’ lives?

Plus he should get a fat pension from the state of Florida.

SC's kept their noses clean for long enough, I doubt "squeeky clean" is all that high up on their priority list right now.

Not sure if it's been mentioned, but I heard one of Urban Meyer's kids plays baseball or softball at Cinci. Not that SC necessarily needs a person "in" with Meyer to get him.

Franklin is making almost $6M at PSU too. Not that they couldn't, but SC would have to about double what they had been paying in order to lure Franklin.

willie taggert might be the worst coach in the country, he was paid off to get the hell out

Willie Taggart's resume is pretty funny. Really riding that one good season he had at USF. Also, and this is pretty funny, he's made 4 bowl games and only coached 1 of them. LOL.

He kind of reminds me of a young Lane Kiffin. Like, why the hell are programs hiring this guy?
