SC

Well, he’s getting $17.7 million to not coach anymore at FSU. At 6 percent, he’ll get over a $1,000,000 per year by just investing it.

Why not just coach high school football somewhere? Make a difference in kids’ lives?

FSU is paying his buyout from Oregon AND USF. It's gotta sting writing those checks.

Just think how DUMB they must feel not making Ed Orgeron their HC when they had a chance to do so? Moronic decisions like that is why Lynn Swinny, Swanny, Slappy (for all you Dumb and Dumber fans)..... Swanson was relieved of his duties.

Franklin is making almost $6M at PSU too. Not that they couldn't, but SC would have to about double what they had been paying in order to lure Franklin.

I would leave PSU in a heartbeat for SC. In fact, I would do it for $4,000,000 plus incentives. You can go farther at SC than PSU. You can get better kids with less competition at SC. Its just a better job.

or maybe $650,000 a year after taxes.

SC's kept their noses clean for long enough, I doubt "squeeky clean" is all that high up on their priority list right now.

Not sure if it's been mentioned, but I heard one of Urban Meyer's kids plays baseball or softball at Cinci. Not that SC necessarily needs a person "in" with Meyer to get him.

No. USC does not need squeeky clean but they will want reasonably clean. Meyer's past is not reasonably clean. Meyer has also been mentioned as possibly the next Notre Dame HC which I find even less likely. Notre Dame canned one coach for fudging his resume. Meyer has been associated with far worse.

FSU is an entirely different matter. I think that he would fit in well there. Past familiarity with the local recruiting circuit and the fans won't care if half the team is out on bail as long as they win.

Gotta wonder about opportunity costs with sky high salaries. Make one million dollars a year for the rest of your life if you don't work very hard and get fired. Not saying that's what happened, but it just like in life insurance, there is a limit to how much people can be tempted with.

the guy probably purposely tanked to cash in on that 17 million dollar buyout

but its hard to tell because he sucks so bad

notice the buzz around the fsu job, then contrast that with the yawns about the usc opening, telling...….....
