Vax status and questionable coaching stuff aside, Rolo hasn't been greeted with a particularly friendly schedule since taking over last year. Had we not pissed away the Utah State game, the results of the games would be somewhat expected.

at Utah

Utah State (their best start since 1978)
Portland State

If you want to play in conference championships, you have to win most, if not all of those games anyways, regardless of opponent.

With all the talent on the team this season - according to the AD - the schedule shouldn't really matter.

Wait, there have only 7 games that he has coached?! Based on the reactions I have been reading, one would assume he has coached 7 seasons! He isn't going anywhere this year, mandate or not.

I think it is reasonable to evaluate wins and losses by league games. He hasnt had a lot of games under his belt.

Question… how many league games do you need to see to form an opinion of how good the coach is? Name that tune so to say…

It isn't the number of games, it's how we look in them.

In 2000, we went 2-6 in conference. We lost 3 conference games by less than a TD. While the last game (the 51-3 AC debacle) left a really bad taste in my mouth, I was anxious for the next season. Didn't even consider that Price should go.

In 2008, we went 1-8 in conference, and our closest loss was by 25. The first conference game (hell, the first conference play) had me concerned, and by the time we got steamrolled by SC 5 weeks later, forget the next season, I dreaded the next week. I had zero confidence that there was anything positive in sight, and wouldn't have complained if a change had been made.

In 2021, I feel a lot closer to how I did in 2008 than how I did in 2000.

Would agree. I'm not pining to catch a game with the young uprising talent we have where I can consider next season to be a really good one. Gameday is a dreadful, "do I want to watch?" similar how I felt in the 9-40 years.
