For those who hold them solely responsible, consider this. Neither of them are Cougs. They likely won’t retire here. They are here for a personal opportunity and will leave when a better one comes along. Just like Leach. Just like Moos (who was a Coug!)
The players however are Cougs for life. They deserve our support. They deserve a packed house on Saturday.
For those thinking about yanking donations…surely you understand how institutional investments work. Your decision will only hurt your school long term. Chun and Schultz will be fine.
Take a minute, have a deep breath, and remove the current emotion. That’s all.
Go F’in Cougs! Always

Well said, I wasn’t sold Rolo yet but he was winning me over the last 3 games. The first couple of games were difficult for me based on the weird decisions being made on the field. I don’t put any blame on Chun or Shultz either. Rolo made a stance on his decision and it is what it is. I’m moving forward on all of this and supporting Dickert and the team.

No doubt the pitchfork collective that is still pinching themselves in celebration will immediately clear out their savings and 401k’s to make up the difference in lost donations. It’s an ideological victory after all and one of the programs finest moments.

Really no idea what you are talking about.
Rolo was an employee of the State of Washington.
He chose not to get vaccinated.
He is no longer eligible for employment as the highest paid employee of the state.
Really has nothing to do with whether or not Chun went to WSU.
While you are burning with hate, you can relax by making a list of all WSU ADs and Presidents who were graduates of WSU.

I've been teetering on disengaging from cfb for a while now, this is just another nail in that coffin.

The institution of cfb lacks any semblance of amatuerism and will only get worse in the years coming. The arms race of coaches salaries and facilities, combined with the new era of NIL is ushering in a brand of cfb that I don't have the stomach for. The NCAA spent the 80s and 90s leveling the playing field and we're headed right back to the pre scholarship limit days. God bless the Cougs who suffered through that, but my Coug life has been filled with the (probably naive) belief that WSU had a chance to be competitive; I don't see that in the future for the smaller schools.

IMHO the NCAA and the current system need to be blown up; there's too much money at stake for anyone to be dealing straight, but everyone's pockets are lined so no one cares.

He's saying that if someone is pissed at Chun or Schulz and wants to make them pay by boycotting the team/school or withholding donations, as many seem interested in doing, they're primarily hurting WSU, not Chun or Schulz.

Im assuming he is responding to 702 without quotes of which it would make sense. If he’s responding to me he completely missed my point and you are spot on.
I’m not trying to preach just asking other Cougs to put all of this in perspective. This is bigger than Rolo, Chun, and Schultz. They are/were just holding positions at the end of the day. I’m a Coug for life and damn proud of it, and always will be. That’s all Im saying. For those of you who can’t get past the political BS, I feel sorry for you really

Perfectly stated, hit the nail on the head.....

Schulz (no T = no balls) needs to go but zero trust in the BOR in hiring a replacement. Only Ron Sims has much common sense.

Chun will leave on his own accord.

It matters because those posts at the UI accelerated their decline.

For all of you bashing Chun, you must be forgetting the Sterk and Dickson days. The AD is judged on many things but 2 of the most important are fund raising and coaching hires. Chun set a record for fund raising in his first year, keep in mind the bar is low because WSU fans talk more than they contribute. And look at the coaching hires he has made 4, baseball, men’s and women’s basketball and of course football. I would have to say they are all very good hires. The only problem is football, and this coach didn’t understand rule number 1, that when chosen to coach a power 5 team you don’t do things to embarrass your university.

Love the Cougs and WSU, but have to blame Chun and Schulz for this mess. Thoroughly vetted my arse. All the signs were there from day one. The very first word that describes Rolo is a "quirky" coach, who did good things at Hawaii. Leach was quirky too. Yes, but the circumstances were oh so different. You take that risk when your program is a complete dumpster fire, you don't have much to lose and you have no where to go but up. We held our breath with Leach, he flirted with disaster a couple times, but it worked out better than we had hoped. But when you are attempting to replace a coach who has resurrected the program from the ashes, you don't double down on quirky. Quirky is a nice way of saying strange and unpredictable. You look to hire the rock of Gibraltar. Well, strange and unpredictable, AKA "quirky" bit us in the arse this time around.

Price was quirky. Walden was quirky. Wulff picked his nose in public and dropped a deuce in a recruits toilet. Quirky? Probably.

Quirky is not the same thing as self-immolating anti-vaxxer.

So true. After a fabulous Dads Weekend at WSU partaking in all the fraternity and sorority festivities it made me wonder why they haven't targeted these "white privilege" institutions yet. Careful what you all wish for - they may be coming for you next.

They have. For sure they have. It's an uneasy alliance, to be sure.

The only thing holding it back full bore is fraternity/sorority alums throw huge money back into the school. So the school acts as a buffer somewhat.

Yep coming after your guns next. Lock them up or lock and load them. Especially when the man comes to pin you down and jab you with the needle .

If CPW knew all the **** he was going catch more than a decade later, he probably would've refrained from doing both.

He was busy trying to win football games and keep his job and probably didn't worry about those things.

It was revealed during a recent pregame show that Wulff once assured the WSU team physician that he never farted on the sideline while coaching.

Can his protégé Jimmy Lake do the same?
