SF Chronicle: Cal and Stanford to the ACC

T-Town, what are you hearing on what the net will be for the last two remaining schools?

The Cal schools are foolish enough to abandon rather than rebuild - then yes, they can go to Hell !

It should be clear by now, even to the pathetic leadership of WSU, that the PAC 2 is now on it's own and free to seriously rebuild the Conf, entice the Mtn West to join and share a PART of the money that so many are saying will come ! Negotiate a realistic media deal and get back to football !

in the creation of a NEW conf ...

FWIW, John Canzano of the Portland Oregonian said it's gonna be $450M and whoever turns out the lights is entitled to all the money 🤷‍♂️
Remind me again where Canzano practices law and what law school he attended?

Last one standing ain't getting the entire pot. Not for that kind of jack.

Yeah it's pretty clear. Either join the Mtn West, or get them to disband and join the PAC16.

You see things like this, really make me question these guys "in the know".

The PAC was offered the same deal the Big 12 eventually got. Even after USC left. The presidents told ole George they wanted 50 million per school. The PAC could have gotten 31 million per school. They burnt the bridge.

So, this should be the last shoes to drop right? Would Big 12 take OSU just to screw us?

OSU and WSU should try to secure the windfall of the PAC 12 money, make the pitch jointly to join the Big 12 for a cut rate during this media contract, and live off the windfall until the next Big 12 contract is negotiated (when they become equal partners).

Do they have to wait until next August to do that?

this is such a step down for Stanford....they were always the big name academic school and now they've thrown all their history away with this stupid decision....should have remained independent if nothing else....

this is all on the nil....all of it.....as soon as buying players was made okay, the end was in sight......people just don't think critically anymore...

There seems to be an awful lot of B12 fans that want OSU and WSU in the conference. I realize it doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things but interesting to see nonetheless. If OSU and WSU end up bagging that $$ seems like this could be a great play for everyone. Conference schools remain whole while picking up two nice markets for the future. Everyone from the pac finds a home.

The university that came up with the 50 million value had to be Oregon or Washington, both wanted to be in the BIG 10, if they agree to 31 million and stay in the Pac going to the Big doesn't happen, So you present this outlandish value of $50 million per school knowing the networks won't go along with it, just so you can make sure there is no deal, so you now have your excuse to leave and join the Big 10. This whole negotiation of media rights was sabotaged, and not getting a favorable deal is what a few schools were looking for. You can say in hindsight they should have taken that deal, however I do believe there are schools, with foresight, that didn't want a Pac 12 deal, so they could move on.
