Jaylen Shead will be out at least until next week after turning his ankle vs. Idaho State. That means Bonton is likely to start at point but it could be Robinson with Noah Williams seeing some point duty. Brand X mentions that Ryan Rapp might see his first action of the season, he's been out 11 weeks with a stress fracture but now healthy enough to play. I expected him to redshirt this season, so if he does play, Smith must think he's good enough to contribute some this year. Vova Markovitskyy is likely to play vs. Omaha as well. I"m very interested to see how he does. His size could come in handy.

I'm looking forward to seeing Vova as well. I don't expect too much early but think he will develop into a productive big over time. Time will tell though.

Surprises me Rap will play but it's pretty rare. Get him some minutes and see if he has the upside to develop into a player.

I think this also means that the coaching staff believes in Rapp's talent more then we do. They have seen him play and talked to his coaches. Those of us sitting behind computers are really going off what we have read, our gut feelings, or preconceived notions.

The coaches better know more than we do and I

Definitely think the coaches know I more than us fans. I think it shows how much they prioritize taking care of the ball. I still would suspect Bonton, Robinson, and Williams take most of the minutes unless Williams is still in the doghouse.

I've come around on redshirting. It just isn't much of a priority in today's environment. Rapp will take his lumps, get stronger, and continue to develop over the next couple of years. It's early but I like the recruiting.

1st I'd heard that Williams is in the dog house. Assuming that's why he didn't play (much?) against Idaho St?

4 pm start today will be tough to watch on the West Coast. Hopefully someone can provide a good summary of the action.

Smith said he didn't play against Idaho State because of "coaches decision". Didn't sound like it was a big deal. I think he's expected to play today especially with Shead out.
