Should WSU be this cats first power 5 offer?

If you follow JG, he’s been pimping this kid for a long time. But check out his film………he’s a hell of an athlete.

Athletic, yes. His clip has him playing at least 4 positions (RB, QB, LB, S). He seems to make good reads and react pretty well defensively, takes good angles most of the time and pursues inside out pretty well. his team has terrible outside containment, but he's able to close on ball carriers from the ILB spot for minimal gains.

But...

He plays too high. As an RB his first move is up, not out, and he doesn't fire off well. As a college RB, he'd likely never have his hand on the ground, so this might not matter. Bigger problem is that he also runs high and doesn't deliver hits. Doesn't look like he's that hard to take down, and doesn't show quick change of direction ability either. His running gains are big holes that he can hit moving at full speed. He's just fast enough for that to work...but doesn't seem to be a burner either.

Also plays high on D. Lots of arm tackles. There are only a few shots of him putting a shoulder on someone, and most of those are when coming up from the safety spot. A lot of his tackles, even when he's made a good play just to get to the ballcarrier, end with him grabbing the ball carrier and twisting him down...often allowing another yard of progress. He doesn't drive people back much.

I'm not sure what level he's playing at or what kind of coaching he's seen. He could have upside, but there are some critical details that need to be fixed before he's college ready.

Nice analysis. I could see him at nickel or SS. He’s a 10.87 100 guy and a state wrestling champ. Just a solid athlete.
