UW is already ahead of us. Their win doesn’t hurt, and if they have 10 wins and a top 10 ranking our loss to them doesn’t look as bad.The Pac 12 title game. What would help us the most. I could make an argument for both teams.
Our only chance is if the jackasses that put Florida, Ped State, and LSU ahead of us reconsider their position. Not likely, these aren’t the type of people that easily admit they are wrong.UW is already ahead of us. Utah is behind us. Decent chance they would not move ahead of us with a win, but they’d still get the Rose. That puts us one more spot away from the NY6. Our benefit of beating them is watered down by the fact that it was 2 months ago.
We have very little chance regardless, but whatever scenario strengthens our schedule more has to be preferred. I think that means a UW win.
But, if Texas or Northwestern pulls the upset, our faint hopes disappear. I would not be surprised if Texas pulls it off.
I’m going to double down on this - we need the mitts to blow out Utah. I mean really embarrass them. The better UW looks, the easier our loss is to stomach...and the less attractive Utah will be to the Alamo bowl people. As 95coug says, we need the mutts to win if we care about the NY6. We need Clemson to destroy Pitt, OU to squeak by Texas and Ohio State to destroy Northwestern. Texas sneaks into the NY6 if OU makes the playoff because the Big 12 is guaranteed a team in the Sugar Bowl. We need Ohio State to make the playoff at this point. Long story short......unless the CFP committee has a major change of heart, we are going to San Antonio.

I like the idea of Utah winning. Making the dogs at 10-4 go to a bowl below us. Us Alamo. Dogs Holiday.

Also, just as insurance, we need Cal to beat Stanford. Otherwise Stanford can also be considered for the Alamo. I don’t really think they would be, but Cal may as well eliminate them. A Stanford loss also guarantees we can’t fall past the Holiday, if the Alamo takes Utah.
The critical point is that the committee needs to move us ahead of Penn State. Clemson beating up Pitt might help with that. If that doesn’t happen, we won’t get an NY6 game no matter who wins the PAC-12.I thought about this overnight and I’ve come to grips with the fact that it doesn’t matter who wins the PAC-12 championship game so we might as well root for the Utes.
Utah winning would knock UW out of the Top 12 and move us up a spot. As mentioned above, it gives additional weight to our win against the Utes and gives creedance to the notion that the snow was a big factor.
We still need the other games to play out as I said above and the committee to reverse course as mentioned by others above.
I still feel good about the Alamo if we go there.
I guess it could. But I don’t see that happening to a 10-2 teamThe critical point is that the committee needs to move us ahead of Penn State. Clemson beating up Pitt might help with that. If that doesn’t happen, we won’t get an NY6 game no matter who wins the PAC-12.
Consider this though: the Alamo bowl is much more likely to pass us up to take UW than they are to take Utah over us. A Utah win, especially coupled with a Stanford win over Cal, might drop us all the way to Redbox.

I don’t think it’s that far fetched. They’ll have the choice between us and UW - who will have 9 wins, just played in a conference championship, just beat us, and brings a much larger market.I guess it could. But I don’t see that happening to a 10-2 team
Agreed on perception.I feel like that's a gamble I'm willing to take for the possibility of the Fiesta.
The Red Box would be disappointing, but it would almost be funny more than anything else. If there were evera an indictment on how poorly the PAC is perceived, that would be it.

If they take UW, Holiday picks next. Their choices are us and Stanford. Key point here is we’ve been to the Holiday 2 years running and laid an egg both times. There might well be an interest in trying someone new...and their other option is a team within a day’s drive.
Redbox would have no choice if we fell that far, but would be miserably disappointing for our fans.
I’m not sure they bring a larger market. Lots of folks in Texas would be watching because of Leach and there would be more than a few attending as well. Outside of SEATTLE nobody gives a rats ass about UW...and most people in Seattle aren’t going to think much about the Alamo Bowl when they thought they were going to be playing Bama before the season started.I don’t think it’s that far fetched. My thoughts exactly.Go Utes, let the chips fall where they may.
You're in luck. There is no possible way for the Cougs to play in the Sun Bowl this year.Right now I just don't want the Cougs to play in the Sun Bowl and another monster snow storm.
Even if they go to a lesser bowl they can put 50 points on anyone, move up in the polls and get that 11th win (first time in school history).
We would light Iowa State upSI's bowl projections...

I am with you. I really want to fly to SF and walk into Larry Scott's office just so I can tell him what a piece of sh!t he is. He is so bad for our conference and its affecting us now.Honestly I'm still having trouble stomaching the fact that we're even having this discussion.

Bandwagonner...I'll probably root for Washington.
True......... I hope to hell he gets exposed. His leadership isn't even worth the toilet paper he wipes his ass with. It’s affected us the last 4 years. 2015 McAffrey fumble was the actual highlight. We’re just finding out now. Our glory years have been modified in favor of an agenda.
I'll make a deal with you. If you root for the Cougars in their bowl game, I'll root for Utah tonight.I'll probably root for Washington.
