Another factor that is playing into this is covid.
With a shortened, delayed, an or no season, that would likely delay CJ's development, and hurt his draft stock if he had stayed.
Now if he were to stay, and if there were to be a full, normal season, his draft stock over the next 1,2 years would likely improve.
But with covid, its just too great a risk to stay, not go pro.
Unfortunately for CJ, more wont return, and will enter the draft for the same reason why its best for CJ not to return.
This means that the draft will maybe have a better, deeper pool of talent, then it would have had, had covid never happened.
If covid had never happened, CJ probably would have been drafted somewhere between near semi top of 2nd round at best, mid 2nd round at average, last pick of 2nd round at bad, to undrafted free agent, guaranteed contract at worst.
But since covid hapoened, CJ will either go last pick of 2md round at best, to undrafted at worst.
So with almost no chance to get drafted, and almost no chance to improve draft stock, if stay, because of covid, the right thing would probably be to stay, get his degree, etc.
If he is like casto, and either might not get degree, or doesnt like academics, etc, then the right thing would be to enter draft. He might fet lucky and get drafted as last pick of 2nd round. And if not get drafted, like he us likely to go undrafted., then like casto he can play overseas.
I think a better route then either staying, or entering draft, is that he can play in the G development league in the NBA as a amateur, maintain his eligibility, then either enter draft, or return to college to play.
But despite the best thing for CJ probably being either G league or staying, CJ has decided to stsy in the draft.
Thats his choice, and wish him luck, well.
