I'm guessing here, but given the rank order, I'd expect that a larger number is better, with the yards being the average starting position as measured from the kicking team's 40-yard line.

So, e.g., if USC has a 42.3 "kickoff coverage" average, the opponent's average starting position on kickoffs would be the 17.7 yard line. If correct, this means that WSU's opponents have had an average starting position of the 25.3 yard line.

Honestly, though, I'd expect WSU's stats to be even worse than that, so maybe I'm not analyzing it correctly.
