Pretty excited by Jackson and also how hard the staff works.

Thanks, Save. That's how a WSU staff needs to recruit. Identify a player and follow through every step of the way. Persistence and hard work is required in Pullman! It's interesting that the awful pandemic we are experiencing might have produced a silver lining in the fact that other schools were denied a chance to see Jackson play in several all-star post season competitions. It would not have surprised me if another program had swooped in and plucked Jackson at that point.

Glad Cougar

Great Article, but what glad had said, probably would not have happened.

What the article didnt say, according to other media sources, and the twitter trail, and Jackson's Tweets, etc, that I saw, read, etc, Jackson said that the main reasons he came to WSU were:

1. Smith was REAL NOT FAKE

2. He thought he would be a good fit at WSU.

3. He thought WSU/Smith would DEVELOP HIM BETTER THEN ANY PROGRAM/COACHING STAFF IN THE COUNTRY.

4. HE LOVED HIS VISIT TO WSU.

5. HE LOVED THE FAMILY ATMOSPHERE.

Add to that what the article said about being persistent, etc, since Jackson hadnt said that earlier..

Jackson also said that his commitment was solid, wasnt, isnt going to change, and that it wouldnt have mattered who would have offered, as that is how committed to WSU he is.

So even if Kansas, Kentucky, North Carolina, Duke, etc, would have all offered, if they had had the chance to see him, if not for the Corona Virus, Jackson had already made up his mind, loved WSU, Loved his visit, Loved tbe coaching staff, etc, was going to commit to WSU, wasnt, isnt going to change his commitment.

All 300+ Div 1 Colleges in USA could have SWOOPED IN on Jackson, if not for Corona Virus, and it still probably would not make a difference and Jackson probably would still not have changed commitment to WSU, gone elsewhere.

That is how awesome of a good Job WSU/Smith did at BEATING OUT Arizona, Cal, the BLUE BLOODS of College Basketball.

So even if no Corona Virus, and even if Jackson had played in all those extra games, and even if every college in USA would have offered him, it still would have been the same result in Jackson committing to WSU.

Great job staying on the kid and getting the commitment by coach Smith and his staff. It sounds like many of his opportunities had pulled back after his injury and the fact WSU didn’t was a big factor. He basically said what every recruit says when they commit. Great coach, great fit, happy to be going there blah blah blah. Did you expect him to talk negatively about the coach and program he just committed to? As far as I can tell he has never visited so number 4 and 5 on your list are mute. Let’s hope this kid is the program changer he appears to have the potential to be, but all we can really do is wait and see.
