I'll confirm the "high energy" piece of it. I've had the opportunity to go to a lot of Coug Spring Ball practices over the last 20 years, and my takeaway from watching last week was that Dickert and his staff does a GREAT job with spring ball. Fast-paced, lotta energy, and everybody is getting a lot of reps -- there's no standing around by anyone. All the assistant coaches are very hands-on. (I particularly enjoyed watching Kaligis work with his d line and Cooper work with the Edges.) Easily the most energy I've seen displayed in spring ball from any coaching staff dating back to the days of Doba.Me + 3. Thanks MI for posting! Always a good time for the kids, and fun to get a look at the new faces. Hearing spring ball has been pretty high energy, looking forward to seeing Dickerts version. Every coach seems to put a different spin on this event. Will also be interesting if there is NIL visibility and if that’s changed anything. Promos for different players/companies etc.
Love hearing this. Thanks for the share. Heard the other day that out of 14 kids that have visited Pullman, they’ve closed 13 of them…or something of that nature? Sounds improbable my numbers might be a little off on what I heard but anything close to that is phenomenal. Really speaks to the culture that’s been established in a short period of time.I'll confirm the "high energy" piece of it. Second thing that really stood out was how little confusion there was on the part of players. They ended last Saturday's practice with 45 minutes of mock scrimmage and #1 and #2 offenses going against the #1 and #2 defenses in 2 minute drills. This went extremely well -- very little confusion on the field compared to what I've seen in year's past. I walked away from that practice impressed and thinking the team was ahead of where I expected them to be. Hope to go watch tomorrow and the Spring Game and walk away feeling the same.
Thanks Ruff. What was your take on Emmet Brown at QB? Good arm? Good mobility? Good decision making? He appears to be well spoken, eager and intelligent in the video after the scrimmage. Laughed at his answer when asked if he had tats. Seems like a great kid.I'll confirm the "high energy" piece of it.
