Stanford, SC, and Apple Cup

I’m wondering if an Apple Cup next week may be a strong possibility. Per ESPN, there can be no contact sports at the professional, collegiate, and youth levels for the next three weeks in Santa Clara County. Games and practices. Also mandatory 14 day quarantine for anyone going more that 150 miles from the county.

Contact sports ban leaves 49ers, others in limbo

Santa Clara County, home of the 49ers and Levi's Stadium, issued enhanced COVID-19 guidelines for professional, collegiate and youth sports on Saturday afternoon that effectively put a three-week ban on any contact sports taking place in the county.

Would seem to put the Tree game against udump in jeopardy.

Not sure on the health of SC but if they are a Covid risk it could leave us with the opening we need to huck some fuskies in a week.

Interesting, SD. Sounds to me that both games are unlikely to occur and we now have an opening for the AC. Chun has his work cut out for him. Probable rescheduling for the USC game but does he tie someone else down for that or does he wait to see how Stanford's situation develops? Or, for that matter, whether USC can really play. A whole mess of variables which will not manifest themselves until late next week and perhaps too late to do anything about them. An imponderable puzzle for our AD to deal with.
