Brand X is reporting that WSU game time for Portland State is 11:00 AM , with the Wyoming game begin pegged for a 5:30 PM Start....... hmmmm. Ok. I guess.

Not shocked on the PSU game. It's a body bag game… The time is dictated by TV and the network knows no one gives a crap about PSU. It's also assumed we'll win. Who wants to watch that, outside of WSU fans. And even some of the fellow Cougs I've talked to kinda shrug their shoulders about the game. We wanted puff games. Well, we got one and this is what will happen with these kinds of games. Crappy kick off time, which translates to crappy turn out. Like I said on 95's thread, I'm looking forward to it. Should be a great show. Great way to show off our team, IMHO.

But it'll be a "W" (better be anyways) so that is the whole point with these kinds of games. I hope turn out is along the same lines as last year… We supposedly were just barely under 31,000. Won't get into the turnstile vs. ticket sales thing again. We all know what that is.

Yeah the Portland State start time is bad, but no matter what time it was it would be tough to get a good turnout. It is Labor Day weekend in Pullman so students will be half gone, and other fans will want to spend their Holiday weekend elsewhere. I think I am going to get up there but I will have plenty of empty seats to choose from I would think.

I'd be surprised if we reach 25K for PSU. Many students will be out of town, many fans will be taking one last vacation before summer ends. We closed out last year pretty weak, and there's not a lot of buzz around the program so far. The 11 AM start will knock out a chunk of the crowd within a couple hours, because they'll still be at junior soccer games, etc. We'll lose the day-trippers that are more than 2.5 hours out, because they'll have to leave too early.

All we're going to get is the locals, the die-hards, and the handful who decide to make the Cougs part of their last summer vacation. I'm thinking 20-22K is realistic.

My kid is not a junior soccer age yet, so I dont know this answer, but does fall soccer start its games labor day weekend?
I know people often times have plans that weekend, but I would think that youth soccer would start the following weekend. Some school districts have not even started class by Labor day.

In Spokane soccer usually starts the weekend after Labor Day. I'm not sure about this year though, Labor Day is late and school starts before Labor Day this year which is not the norm.
