Chun doesn't pull any punches: “It was never a matter of ‘if’, it was always a matter of ‘when’,” Chun said. “After the 2017-18 season, we had a large enough sample size to know the program wasn’t trending in the correct direction. We had hope because of the quality of recruits coming in with C.J. and others.”

He also didn't throw the players under the bus. I have no idea whether he can pull off a great hire but I think he understand what he's up against and hopefully will find the right fit. Seems maybe he learned from the last go around with the women's team as well.

There was also a reference in his interview about players not playing for each other....can't remember the exact quote but that's how I interpreted it. Not a lot of unselfishness on the team.
Either the wrong kind of guys were being recruited or coaches were not able to impose a team atmosphere or chemistry. I always though EK was too effusive with praise (hype) and didn't seem to get after them when they needed it....but then again, I don't know what he said in the locker room or behind closed doors.

Glad Cougar
