Coach June is adamant that they will contend for the PAC 12 Championship. They have a tough row to hoe as the National preseason top 25 has just been named.In the poll ,UCLA is ranked# 7,Stanford#9,Oregon #11,OSU.#17 and Cal is ranked at #25.Good luck June and the Lady cougs

I think Daugherty (Hailey/Pavlopoulou @ media days as well) are talking mindset as much as anything. If healthy we can compete with anyone in the conference. Consistency, focus, playing together, and all that. However, we are picked 7th for a reason. There's a lot of talent and tradition in this conference.

I think the defensive guy, Jensen, is the key. First time in Daugherty's era the defense is sound rather than slapstick. The late season run last year without several key players was an indication how much better the team is with serious, disciplined defensive effort.

Before Jensen offense was their entire identity and it was of the throw up the first available option variety. As some have pointed out while he was a good addition it took a recruiter off the staff. We will see how that works out down the road.

Coach June has never had a problem in recruiting good players. It was the quality of the team on the floor which was questionable.

The talent has steadily improved and we have never been this deep with quality players and a legit 5-star talent in Molina. June has recruited well but there still been a gap between us and the top teams in the conference. It's not nearly as significant as it has been in past years. That will help a lot if we can keep them on the court.

I like the coug players and i hope they can compete this year with the better teams.
