from 28th?-30th ranked class back down to 50 something. When the official site said "something went wrong"....they really meant it.

Re: Sunk like a sone

When one of your assistant coaches leaves 10 days before LOI's are due, it doesn't help. All in all, still a good class and I think we need to look at the hold overs from last year, LaRue, and Singleton, and look at some redshirts that will help us. Filled a lot of needs still a few holes, a lot of players in the class to be excited about, let 's not make the ones that did commit feel 2nd class because a receiver coach and a few commits elected to go else where at the last minute. I welcome all the great new Cougs with open arms, good things are about to happen and I am glad all of them had the vision to see it.

He wasn't just our assistant coach, he was either our 1st or 2nd top recruiter. Wish he, and Mr. Stoops would have waited a couple weeks

Re: Sunk like a sone

Speaking of sinking, USC to WSU to SJSU is an example of someone sinking, with issues we will probably never know about. I hope things work out of the kid in the long run.

This is exactly why I hate verbal commitments. Because they don't mean a darn thing. I wish we'd just get rid of them and let kids sign whenever they are ready to make a choice. Otherwise recruits are going to keep using us as a placeholder until something more desirable comes along.

This class is still okay. But two weeks ago it was shaping up to be great. Probably one of the best ever for WSU. Now we are looking at a class ranked in the 50 nationally which really isn't fantastic especially when compared to other Big 5 schools.

Fact is, we lost a lot of high profile guys in the last week and we only gained a couple guys in return...none of whom are as highly regarded. This was not a fun NSD.

Having said that, I do like a lot of guys in this class. Some will contribute right away and a few may end up being really special players. And we filled some needs. But it would have been nice to get the other guys as well.

If the cougs had not landed Fehoko , Oguayo ,and Dimry during the last week, this class would really be average.. However Fehoko and Toki will anchor the coug DL for the next few years. The cougs are in pretty good shape but this class should have been very special. It is hard to compete with UCLAand usc without landing some of the 4 star players which includes juco Moi.I believe that Dimry may surprise a lot of people.

Moi was a 3-star recruit. It's on Twitter.

Splitting hairs my dear man.Your BR Twitters called him a four star recruit. Lets see how the cougs fare next year. I would guess that the home games will be well attended and people will see how things turn Out. I plan to go to at least 3 home games so i can enjoy coug football and renew old acquaintances. It should be fun next year=, i can hardly wait.

You can check Rivals' Oregon page and its list of signees, if you'd like. It's free, and it shows Moi as a 3-star, which has been his rating for quite awhile. Knock yourself out.

This sucks. Checking in every couple hours and seeing us lose guy after guy is really disheartening. I'm more pissed about the last 48 hours than I was after the New Mexico Bowl, Cal, and Oregon games combined. Simmons pulling a Tosh and bailing on us at the 11th hour...WTF!? Feels like we are in a hole we will never get out of. Sorry, but I don't "wish anyone well". F Simmons and screw all these "commits" that bailed and left Leach high and dry...I hope every last one of them rides pine and don't pan out. Sick of this ish.

this class is really average, let's face it, Dimry's football career was over, he had no other offers and Oguayo was very lightly recruited

The LB and WR groups were hurt most by the deflections . However,i believe that the cougs recruited very well at the other positions. The O line and D lines got good help. Mitchell will see playing time next year. I also think that Toki and possibly Fehoko see time next year.It depensd on how well they adjust to the college game. Papa Joe will came through on his recruiting players. He came through big time.He will probably be approached again by other schools next year. However .i believe that he has loyalty to both his players and the head coach.

Another year, another disappointment. You can say it's Simmons! Or you can say, as a pessimist like myself, if it's not one thing, it's another. Every year the same letdown.

We finish outside the Top 50, and are once again a Bottom 3 team in conference.

Regarding "getting rid of verbals," you can't get rid of them. First of all, kids have free speech and can claim to be going wherever they want. And fans are so rabid to hear from them, there is huge demand for news about verbals. It tends not to serve us very well, but I doubt very much that Alabama feels betrayed by verbals year in and year out.

Someday, WSU will be a destination for certain positions, and ultimately for great recruits. Until then, we are every westcoast kid's backup-backup school. We are the lanky, bucktooth dork she says 'yes' to because no one else has asked, but who is left in the lurch when she gets the nod from the star quarterback the day before Prom.

With the way this coaching staff has been focusing on improving the O & D lines is impressive. WSU doesn't need 4/5 star talent at the skill positions to move up in the Pac and start winning. I like the looks of our lines improvements.... it's going to pay big time in the future.... Keep hauling in the beef and WSU will be just fine.
