Exactly what I'm thinking. Recruits aren't gonna hang around and wait to see who shows up in Pullman. We only have a few weeks before LOIs are in place, and not having a coach in place will be a problem.
I hope Leach and Chun were on good terms and Leach let Chun know he was out looking so Chun isn't completely unprepared.
It would certainly be a much lower stress position than what he's used to...hell, he could buy Leach's house and walk to work!
As an AD and the fact that Leach had already been shopping his services elsewhere, Chun should already have a short list of candidates. My guess is that he has been putting out feelers to potential candidates in the event this would come to fruition.

Agreed... We are deep in so many areas on the offense. Defense has some tools to work with but will ultimately need a facelift.
You have an OL, big time RB, good WRs and talented but untested QBs. The right guy comes in and runs with that. He doesnt add TEs, he doesnt change the scheme wholesale, he shows up and runs a 4 wr 1 back offense and scores points.
Defense needs work.
We have talent, but based on an air raid system. Wr dominant roster, OL that are based on wide splits and no tight end on roster. Very important we find a HC or OC based on air raid principles.
I dont like having TEs. I think WSU needs that money in the OL. An AR team is gonna be heavy in the OL and WR positions. They make up 9 of 11 spots on the field.
They need an AR coach, run n shoot, 4x1, passing scheme. To retool the offense to include TEs and more backs sets the program back. Run with what you have on the roster and what the brand of the program is now. Dont redirect.
