The good ol’ days …

Remember when we had a defense that could shutdown a Heisman winner?

Remember when we had a defense that tackled fearlessly? There were two different times in particular in the game on Saturday where one of our defensive players just stopped and watched the QB because they were worried if they went after them that they'd get juked and beaten.

When was the last time we had a defense near the top of the league in take aways through 4 games? This game was not on the defense, they only gave up 17 points. Your gripe isn't objective.

I couldn’t watch the game because I was on the road, but sure sounded like the defense gave the offense every opportunity to win. 6 fumbles?
17 points. In a tough environment.
I don’t get all the hate for the defense. Even USC- when you are playing athletes like that and your offense keeps running you onto the field by going 3 and out, you are going to run out of gas.
The offense has F’d this defense over at every turn. The defense holds up fine if the offense is moving the chains. I’m not sure how anyone is seeing this differently.

They were being coached to stay home and contain Rising - make him beat you with his arm, not his feet.

It's "coaching down" IMHO, similar to pooch kicking because you can't trust your KO team to cover.

Fired as a no-show from ESPN. His schedule is a bit more flexible now ....
I thought his firing was hilarious...and perfect. Never liked him as a commentator anyway, him and Mark May were just about equally insufferable. He had a temper tantrum and said he felt like his show was second fiddle to GameDay and he didn't like it. Well...his show was second fiddle, because GameDay was way more popular (it was that way from the time Alberts started working there, so it's not like things changed). But, TA turned pouty and decided to call in one day and say he wasn't coming to work. So his boss - rightfully - told him that's fine, he doesn't need to come in ever again.

It was pure ego. TA thought that he should be treated like #1 even though he wasn't.
