It’s completely BS. Yeah Corey Dillon was a Rhodes Scholar. What a dipshit to even insinuate that. There’s one institution in the conference that has higher academic standards for admission of student athletes and it’s stanford. Every other school if you can play and meet the minimums for conference eligibility you get a uniform.

What “graduate transfer” were they trying to get to replace Gaines, or Vita Vea, or their Senior offensive line or whatever the hell that fast receiver they had was Husky McDouchebag Fastguy Whoever he was.

I don’t know of what scenario what position he is yapping about where the “standards were too high to get magical player x”

Baird rails on and on about not being able to recruit JC players. Except they have when they wanted. Their philosophy has been to recruit HS players, but there are JC recruits sprinkled in here and there.

Yeah, I am 99% sure that uw and WSU's admission minimums are the same. Doesn't mean Joe and Jane Pencilneck will get into uw as regular freshmen, where they will at WSU. So what. uw prefers the out of state and foreign students anyway.

His remark was really about the Grad programs, as if the blue blood faculty would not let some dunderhead athlete in. That may have some merit. BUt then Gawdner is not a dunderhead now is he? No.

I have heard Grad transfers at WSU have to apply as a normal student and it’s why we haven’t had many since the rule was put in place. WSU is probably at a disadvantage being on semester. His only possible point might be the deadline but that hardly qualifies what he was trying to sell. I’m sure all the guys their turning away are future doctors amd lawyers.

Cal is supposed to increase their minimum requirements and believe UCLA is more stringent but that’s about it other than of course Stanford.
