Trying for some "look back" perspective regarding what I'll remember in 10 years.

1.) Entertaining; no doubt about that.
2.) High octane O until you get to the red zone.
3.) Chooses not to run even when it would be the better choice.
4.) Goes for it on 4th down under some easily anticipated conditions, and makes it work frequently.
5.) Not a personally great recruiter.
6.) Very set in his ways, regardless of how the world adapts around him. Some of that is good (adherence to academic and behavior standards), some is bad (evolving his system).
7.) Treats alum thoughts about arch rivalry games as being irrelevant.
8.) 5 straight bowls. Can't argue with that.
9.) Permitted his agent to shop him openly during recruiting season virtually every year, damaging recruiting efforts.
10.) Good O strategist.
11.) Never had an answer for rush 3, drop 8 if the D was competent.
12.) Clearly left us in better shape than he found us.
13.) He served his time in support of Cougdom. I wish him well, but I suspect he will have some regrets.

Dont forget crazy good team gpa and apr as well as the lack of hearing how our players were growing pot! :)

We recruited a level a criminal we had never seen before in Pullman. Don't forget the weapons they got busted with as well.

Lone Star, it is not in his nature to regret professionally. Probably can't say the same personally...in fact, he has commented on that. Anyway, until you fail, you don't often regret much. TT wasn't failure; it was more of an ambush. If he can't win enough at MS to keep the folk happy, then that will be a failure.

He is in a recruiting hotbed at a school with comfortably low academic requirements. He will have competitive recruiting classes. But he was introduced as the 34th HC in less than 125 years. Sherrill was the only guy to make it into double digits; next longest guy was 6 years. I'd submit that, all things considered, it is a tougher HC gig than WSU. Almost 30 of the previous 33 did not succeed. We'll have to see how much better Mike does.

I am grateful for what he accomplished while he was here. If we make a good hire, the new guy will benefit from what Mike left behind.

I'll probably remember the players he gave us. Coaches come and go, but the players resonation Cougs.

Falk, Minshew, Morrow, Boobie, Borghi, Marks, Cracraft, Easop, Arc, Mayle, Dillard, The Continent, Madison, Sorenson, Mauigoa, Abe Lucas, Herc, Luvu, Pelleur, Allison, Dale, Jalen. All Coug legends and guys I'm proud were a part of our program.

What you say is strong, but I can't see him regretting anything personal or professional. If he gets fired, he's sitting on a pile of cash.

Edit: "Probably can't say the same personally...in fact, he has commented on that. "

I've not heard that, but then again, I live in a hole in the ground covered by a piece of twig.
