There has to be more to the story

This is from the Spokesman article, so you may be right. I'll look for more...

Chun said the university decided it wouldn’t be possible to accommodate Rolovich’s exemption request, an indication that the coach’s exemption application may have been approved by a blind committee. If that were the case, Chun would have had to determine whether Rolovich could carry out his duties safely. Chun and WSU president Kirk Schulz declined to elaborate further.
But they are hosting an unvaxed team in BYU, aren't they?

It isn’t just 4 assistants. It’s everyone.

Wulff kept 1 coach.
Leach kept 0 coaches.

Everyone is likely to get fired. On field, off field, strength staff. This isn’t just Turd and 4 assistants. It’s dozens of families. Loss of income, loss of job, loss of opportunity, kids pulled out of school, hope they had month to month housing. Top to bottom house cleaning.

It could take 30 years to get a P5 job. Now what? It is entirely possible no one on this staff ever coaches P5 football again. The drop in pay is enormous. All of the $ in college football is in P5. You aren’t gonna coach running backs at Montana State for $200,000.

It wasn’t just Turd making a decision for him and his. He made the decision for everyone else too. He pulled the plug on his career and pulled the rug out from everyone else.
Wulff retained two alum coaches from Doba's team.

But then blamed Doba and his staff for not recruiting and having a drug problem on the team.

Well, the 4 coaches who got fired shared Rolo's vax beliefs, so that's as much on them as it is on Rolo. Dickert will absolutely land another job, and he may even become our next coach depending on how we finish the season.
I'd say there is at least a 70% chance that Dickert gets the HC job if...if...if...the team pulls together, plays well from here on out and we go to a bowl. Those odds go to 90% if we both go to a bowl and beat UW.

I asked some of the WSU beat folks on Twitter about being denied the exemption vs accommodations and was told that info is not made available due to employment privacy laws.

Chun's statement is certainly cloudy regarding the matter. WSU could not ACCOMMODATE the EXEMPTION request. Wonder if it was worded that way intentionally.

Why would you say BYU's football team is not vaccinated?

And, they aren't employees of the State of Washington, so I'm not really sure what point you're trying to make here.

If it is about safety of student athletes, students and WSU employees etc., hosting an unvaxed BYU team is unsafe and hypocritical.

As much as I hate his 425 scheme…. his defense plays very very hard…. these kids are fuc$ing warriors for him…. he has coached up the scheme about as well as you can…

If he wins games down the stretch and does a good job, yes hire him.

Again, why are you saying BYU is not vaccinated?

And I was just trying to figure out if WSU denied his exemption or his accommodations. I don't know why you're trying to shoehorn in this facetious argument.

BYU has no mandate and 24% of student body isn't vaxed.

What if Dickert contracts a COVID break through case from this game?

Unlikely?

Derek Mason (discussed here yesterday) was vaxed but also has already had a COVID break through case.

Reports have been mixed. Some of the statements have led me to believe that the exemption request was denied. Chun kept saying "accommodation request" though, so it's not clear.
