There is one FBS head coaching job open

Probably TIAA, although I think she would have had the choice between that and PERS. I don’t remember when PERS2 was closed - late 90s/early 2000s I think.

TIAA is the better option….unless you’ve already got several years of service credit in PERS. But if you’re choosing from the outside, TIAA>PERS2…and nobody in their right mind chooses PERS3 over anything.
Wrong. You are thinking about PERS 1 which closed well before Anne started. She did not come in as a Classified employee, nor as a transfer within the state system. Thus she is in TIAA. Why is my wisdom ever questioned?

What about PERS 2, Gibby? You gonna ignore the fact that you were WRONG about a simple fact? That is what I find so fascinating (and typical for a lawyer) about you. You never acknowledge that you are/were mistaken about anything. No "Oops", or "I was incorrect on that one". Never. Ever. You just ignore yourself and off you go on a new tangent.

Let's just edit my comment from above. "And so many some on this board and plenty on Brand X and everywhere said she was sooo great, and I took shit about it." Boy, I'm soooooo glad that you helped me correct that HORRIBLE exaggeration. Is everyone unconfused now?

There, Gibby, are you happy? Ready to actually start your work week and stop charging hapless clients for your WW posting? Hahahahahaha!! :)
Good luck LC... some people can't admit when they are wrong or don't know shit.

Ok, well…
Here’s the HRS page that describes how new AP staff can choose between PERS3 and the WSU plan managed by TIAA.

Link

It’s not covered in a place easily found on the website, but I can tell you from direct personal experience that when CS from PERS2 move to AP, they get the option to stay in PERS or move to TIAA.

I’ll spare you the indignity of saying I’m right. It’s ok, I know. It happens a lot.

Because of "escapades" where you lose your wallet, and your penchant to speak out of your backside.

Did you mean "can" above rather than "can't"?

95, yes you are correct in what you state above, but that is not what you were wrong about. You said Anne had the choice between PERS2 and TIAA. No, she did not, as she was hired as A/P. Your own link agrees with me. "For Faculty and AP hired prior to July 1, 2011, the retirement plan offered was the Washington State University Retirement Plan (WSURP)."

Now, you are correct that NEW A/P's can choose PERS3 (which is NOT PERS2), and which is a shit option. Which has nothing to do with Anne in any event. Nor does your premise (which I know is or was correct because I was given that choice myself) that existing PERS2 members can stay or go to TIAA when they go A/P. She never was PERS2.

So, there is no indignity here. Your being wrong about one thing, then trying to defend your wrongness by quoting something completely different, may brain twist lesser minds (like Gibby's), but can't fool the Mighty Loyal One. I am the MOST knowledgeable poster in any topic that I care to provide information on. Opinions? That is different. Although mine opinions are almost always better than anyone else's. But that is another discussion.

Now go salve your wounds and come back later. :)

Stupid autocorrect.

So the end outcome is that she has to be in TIAA, which is what I said was likely in the first place (the WSU retirement is managed by TIAA).

Although….there is the possibility that she got into PERS 2 before she came to WSU (she was at Portland State previously, and landed at WSU in 2001. PERS 2 closed in March 2002). She was only at PSU for 5 years, so even if she was in PERS it likely would have made more sense to go TIAA.

I had 12 in PERS when I got the option, and it almost made sense to switch. I don’t really remember the details of the decision, but in the end I stuck with the time I had in already. If I’d been stuck with PERS 3, I would have switched out without hesitation.

Oh 95, quit while you are behind and quit thinking. PERS2 didn't "close" in 2002. New employees can still sign up. Link below:

And they should close it. I can't believe that WSU A/P and Faculty can still opt in to PERS3/TRS3. Defined Benefit Plans should be abolished IMHO.

Now back to Anne. Please explain how Anne's time at Portland State (which is located in Oregon BTW), would have any bearing on her potential membership in PERS2 (which is a retirement plan for Washington public employees? Note above: Oregon is not Washington......

To your other comment, I bolted from PERS2 for TIAA and have some regrets. You probably chose well. Seemed like the thing to do at the time, given various reasons. Needless to say I have not gone back and done any "what if's". I am actually vested in PERS2 not all that many years), and when I get close to 65 need to look at my balance vs the pension and decide which one to take. Probably the pension for tax reasons if nothing else. Although that life expectancy is a hard one to put a number to. Pretty sure I will at least outlast our beloved pal Gibby, as he will likely fret himself to death here pretty soon. :)

Anyway, enough of that. I hadn't realized Eckhaus was from Culver City. Nice homecoming for him.

And BSU's $1.1M/year head coach:

Well, shit. Didn’t know they were letting people signup again. For years (after March 2002) they were pushing them into PERS3. And I still get an e-mail every year giving me the “opportunity” to switch to 3….irrevocably. And I notice that the link says that choosing 3 is permanent.

PSU also has a PERS2 plan, although on further inspection it’s only for Oregon employees. But, I bet the WA and OR programs aren’t much different, and that rollovers are just a matter of switching the letterhead.

I suspect that switching to TIAA would have been beneficial for the last year or so. I also suspect that not being in TIAA might be better for the next few. In the end, probably won’t make a huge difference, and neither will be as good as if I could have been in PERS1.

Didn't want to start a new thread for this but found it interesting. 6 WR's and a tight end from Oklahoma all hitting the portal as they bring Mateer in? They will probably bring in a bunch of better ones but still interesting. Although I am easily interested and entertained. :)

Edit - look like Mateer will have some competition at Oklahoma. Wouldn't it be funny if he got beat out as starter?

Are any of them any good? I’d trade a QB for a couple decent receivers, maybe add an LB to sweeten the pot.

If this whole NIL thing isn’t going to get revised, maybe teams should figure out a way to trade the rights to players.
