The flaws have been obvious for years. But the record says 8-3.

Overcoming “obvious flaws” sounds like a good thing.

Average team with a maybe great qb. If we don’t have Mateer, who many wins do we have?

I also think Dickert might just bail. His stock is high and if he doesn’t have a really good QB, how do his teams do?

Dickert can spin the defense on lack of talent and the portal, Pac12 debacle, etc.

For us and our budget... I dont think losing Dickert is a pure win or loss until it plays out.

No way has he been a negative for WSU PR wise. He has been super positive. Zero moves on the political spectrum. Had us in the top 20.

Now with that said... there are lots of better coaches out there. Doesn't mean we can get them. Doesn't mean we can afford them.

IF we lose Dickert, even if we buy a bigger/better name (which I'm not sure we can do)... it doesn't automatically mean we win.
