Title IX - NIL and other implications

I suspect this will be challenged legally. NIL (name, image, likeness) is not "athletic financial assistance"...which is what the department of education is stating.

Believe this has been predicted by quite a few around here, or at least by a small number of people repeatedly.

This interpretation makes little sense. NIL is tied directly to an individual’s market value.

Easy enough to get around though. Money just needs to go through the collective and not the school. Or the players need to be employees instead of students.

Department of education head is an appointed position. The new administration can change this.
It's a Cabinet-Level position that has to be confirmed by the Senate. Linda McMahon is the nominee. You know, Vince's wife? WWE?

And as we know Trump wants to eliminate the entire agency. That would simplify things.

In theory, NIL was tied to market value. In practice, not so sure.

After a five year period they will have data to show the marketability of each player and how they were compensated vs the revenue they produced for each team. When they find out it isnt really name image and likeness they probably go to a pay to play model and the schools will provide the facilities and the NFL will take over 32 teams and make it their farm teams
