To really good .Herc could not be blocked . It is interesting they can’t find another undersized dt like him who simply got low and was in the back field all the time .

Daniel Isom or Jalen Thompson . Both made the secondaries a really good unit . I was shocked isom played as well as he did and that his performance is missed .

How about Keith Millard?

And Coach Doba wouldn't hurt, either

Jason David and Marcus Trufant. If you want to play pressure defense, you need guys who can be put on an island cover receivers 1 on 1. Actually, I'd like the 4 in the secondary from the Posse era, Burns, Hunter, Rushing, Mobley, the best and fastest Cougar secondary I've witness. If not them then Mata Afa and Millard, two DTs too fast off the block to be blocked, they had the line talent to compensate for a so so secondary.

Leon and Mark. And change the defense to a 416. Mark is gonna do whatever he wants anyways and he is as good as 2 linebackers. So might as well add another DB.

I wasn’t looking for all time greats but just recent kids who played well and in Isloms case really made a difference in the back seven surprisingly enough.

And if you did bring back Millard would you play him outside like they did in 82 and 83?

Wherever he wanted to play Ed. Wherever he wanted to play 😄

Would they need a heat seeking missile to be the LB behind them? I nominate Mark Fields.

We are ranked #13 for TFL's and tied for #33 in sacks. We are Top 50 in rushing defense and #27 in yards per rushing attempt. I do not believe that our defensive line is the problem. As good as the DL guys mentioned above are.....they aren't the ones that we need help with.

We are #73 in pass yards allowed #82 in pass efficiency defense. We need help in the secondary in a big way. I would say that it wouldn't hurt to have a linebacker who was better at covering things in the flat. As much as I like Henley and appreciate the dude....his pass coverage skills suck donkey balls once he gets out of the middle of the field and out to the edges.

I don't care what the stats say, watch the games. We aren't getting a push with a 4 man rush, giving QBs all day to pick apart our secondary.

We are trying to do more with less. I don't think we have a single player on defense that would have started on the 1994, 1997 or 2003 defenses. They are doing as well as any Leach defense, however, but that ain't say a whole lot.

On offense, our receivers can't block on screens, and haven't grasped the concept that you don't give up on plays, you need work to find wholes in coverage when plays break down. How often has Ward escaped the pocket only to have to throw the ball away? Because our WRs are standing beside a DB?

We have a QB who can extend plays the likes of which we haven't seen since young Gesser, but we just don't make defense pay for their lack of containment.

Mark is who Im referencing. He is the only LB needed.
Brain Cramp alert! I thought you were referencing Mark Millard, as Millard was recently mentioned. Of course, it was Keith Millard that played for the Cougs. Mark Millard was a guy I worked with at Boeing, who was a friend of Mike Utley, BTW.

I hate when that happens!!!
