Video: Leach Introductory Presser at Miss. State

Seems very much more scripted then he's been in the past.

Even the suit during the press conference.

Did Leach sell out for SEC money?

Interesting when asked, "Why do you want to coach at Mississippi State?

Did you notice that he never really directly answered the question? We all pretty much agree that he's there because - he wants to coach in the SEC, (the country's most elite football conference). Better recruiting classes and, well, it's the top conference, and you're shaking hands with Nick Saban.

Interesting that he wore a suit and tie.. Has the transformation began in the Bible Belt? Just wait until" he shows his ass" That is a Southern term which they also understand. Yup he will respect the cowbell tradition when they tie it on his neck if he loses big time.:)

Leach wore a suit in his WSU introductory press conference. Probably the last time they'll have him show up to work wearing one.

Thank you. He wore a suit and tie and the press conference sounded basically the same: respect for the reputations of the AD and President, respect for the tradition of the program, why he chose the school, etc. They both started the same way and he might actually be wearing the same suit.

Boy, that Mississippi State contingent are a bunch of twangy rednecks and those cowbells are corny and annoying as hell.

I agree with the cowbells. They're so dated.

He acted a little nervous. perhaps he realizes that there will be far more pressure for him to win?

SEC is all about money. Arkansas chose to get their butt kicked in the sec rather go with the natural fit of the big 12, for the sec money.

Still love the guy, excited to see how we can change, also excited to see what leach can do with “elite” athletes. I think next year I’ll be the most excited I have been for CFB as a whole in years.

He was in a suit for the WSU presser.

I was there at the introductory press conference. He seemed like he was on Ketamine. Staring at the ceiling and looking at weird places. Seemed like the lights were making him trip. I seem to remember a red polo but could be wrong.

Edit: you are correct, he was in a suit.

Honestly, got a little emotional watching this.

I was at Leach's introductionary press conference as well, this video brought back some memories.

I don't fault him for leaving, and I do think overall he loved his time at WSU. He even almost said Washington State on accident when saying how he was excited to coach at MSU.

And, he mentioned Washington State and Pullman, about three times. Good times and memories for him.

Not sure he'll have "elite" athletes. 247 has MSU around #25 most years, usually a little worse, which puts them well behind UW and closer to where ASU/Utah are most years. Better than WSU for sure, but if anyone thinks ASU-quality athletes are what stood between Leach and greatness, they're missing the point.

Fair point, but I’m speaking mostly to the offensive side. I believe him, Spurrier, and the others he pulls down there will recruit Florida very well for offensive players.

Coincidentally, ASU with those rankings has had elite WRs.

We’ll see but I think they will take the next step in offensive recruiting.

2019 they were #24 with 1 five star and 5 four stars. Florida State was #19, USC #20.

Leach can do a lot with a little. Their roster is pretty impressive. If he can get talent in that 15-20 range I think he can do a lot of damage.

Perhaps or the better defenses may shut him down a la huskies. He may do well against the bottom feeders but get run off by the powerhouses time will tell.

Louisiana and Mississippi have ballers. He may find he doesnt need to wholesale the team to Florida for kids. Georgia has tons of kids too.

He will get his guys. It will be a good challenge for him professionally.
