Early start and probably the best start of the year for us. Oregon's Oregon. They do everything well. Closest conference game so far was 20 point win against OSU. Bella picked up 2 early fouls and went to the bench.

WSU 15 Oregon 11

We really could be up more if some good shots were falling but a great start against a top 10 program.

End of the 1st: WSU 20 - Oregon 14

They lost the #1, #2, and #8 picks in the WNBA draft and are still in the Top 10. They are a monster!

We are playing totally different this year especially defensively.

Coug's up 37 - 32 at the half. Coug's force 11 Oregon turnovers. Jessica Clarke out of nowhere with 7 points in 7 minutes.

Oregon makes you pay for mistakes. Krystal Leger-Walker is about as good of a passer as I have seen in a Cougar uniform. Charlisse isn't too far behind.

Cougs' up 43 - 42

Coug's up 48-46. Having a lot of trouble clearing boards on the defensive end. Could come down to legs for us.

Oregon goes up 53 - 52 w/ 7:45 to go. Pretty sure they just missed a travel on Sabally that ended with an Oregon score. Clarke now 11 points for the game.

Boley (Duck's) for 3. Charlisse w/ a 2 and Bella w/ 2 blocks on the other end.

Up 60-58 w/ 2:07 left.

So, good defense and Oregon gets a high bank 3 to go. Oregon up 1 w/ 1:20 left. Need a response.

Krystal Leger-Walker misses an open 3. Bella gets the rebound but turns it over. Oregon with the lead and the ball under a minute.

Ula long on a 3. Duck's to the free throw line. Brutal.

Oregon wins 69-65. Brutal but this team is for reals!

Brutal to have a bank in 3 when up 2 with a minute left. But they play tough and great defense. We have an amazing freshman.

I like they way they responded after going down though. Krystal Leger-Walker buries a contested 3 to bring us back within 1. We miss a 3 that would have put us ahead with a second to go. A good shot out of the offense that just didn't go.

Good signs all over the place. Jessica Clarke made a nice impact this weekend in her first minutes. I think we can still play better which is also a good sign.

It is for real . Chun looks like made a good hire .
I think we made a legitimate claim to being able to play with the big girls. This game was no fluke--they played Oregon to the hilt the entire game. They belonged. First time ever that could be sanely proclaimed for Coug women. This is a big dance team.

The banker from top was the game changer. It was ugly but went in and then the three from the corner was the dagger .

But the coach has done a good job .

Exactly, this was by no means a fluke. Our biggest issue right now probably is depth. The Leger-Walker sisters and Ula barely come off the court although Jessica Clarke was pretty impressive off the bench today.

This was probably the best 40 minutes on both ends of the court I can remember from the women's team. Brutal it ended in a loss but impressive for game 4.

Damn, so close. Sounds like this program is on the rise and excited for their future.

Sounds like the ladies are going to be a pain the a*s to beat in conference this season.

Thanks for the updates, Ferris!

Uggh...I was wanting to watch this but had errands to run as I'm heading down to Costa Rica for a while. I think I'll still be able to get Pac 12 network.

Boley is one of the best shooters I've ever seen. I mean she is capable of scoring 29...and has..but was just overshadowed by 3 top 10 picks.

How did Teder do? Didn't look like she had many points. Also did Sarver play much?

I am hoping they show the replay but I couldn't even find the replay for the Oregon State game.

Agree on Boley. I was hoping Bella was going to get a piece but she can be automatic whenever she let's it fly.

Teder started they actually went to Sarver for some extended minutes. I was thinking about how green we are at this level so there's still some adjusting as good as they have played.

I think this is a condensed 60 minute replay:

Thanks for the reply. I found the replay on Pac 12 Oregon in 30 minutes. Now just need to find the Oregon State replay and I'll be golden.

I had a feeling we would be competitive in these two games after what I saw against Washington. We have a lot more quickness out on the court...and our D is light years better than it was last yr.

Ok...you gotta call that. That's some Damon Stoudamire BS
The ball just wasn't bouncing our way late. On Ula's final shot Charlisse and Clark get inside position and the ball goes just over Clarke and 5'9" Paopao is able to tip it out.

Clarke isn't most athletic but you can see the fundamentals and IQ are there. Hoping she can get some minutes at the 4 as well. For such a young player she never seemed fazed by the moment.

Hindsight is always 20/20..but I wish we called time out when Bella got the ball on an offensive rebound but didn't have anywhere to go with the ball...and threw an errant pass. I believe that was what led to the bank shot garbage.

But again, that is arm chair quarterbacking.

I am beyond impressed with the job coach has done. I thought this team was gonna be absolute garbage. I think they are a top 25 team.

Yes, I was impressed with Clarke, too. She will need to play some 4 as Ula needs a breather.

Do you know what channel the Eastern game is on? Pac 12 isn't showing it.

Pretty sloppy game today. Yup, that turnover was unfortunate. I think we have played like a top 25 team. You don't get in after a home loss but taking a top 10 down to the wire after beating a top 25 at the time should wake some people up. Sneak a couple from the Mountain schools and they probably are in. Hope they get some rest.

Ethridge said in the postgame that Clarke has a foot issue. One thing today showed is we really don't have depth beyond Molina, Sarver, Nankervis, and Clarke. That's enough for a rotation but it's not the quality of a lot of teams we are playing. We are basically just stealing a few minutes here and there for the starters. That's going to be tough for a long conference schedule.

I didn't get to watch unfortunately. I saw the box score and it looked like Ula and Charlise played roughly half their normal minutes...which is good.

Yeah I hear ya on the depth. It is a lot better than last year...so one more class should take care of that.

Was talking with my brother and he said to bad Bobi wasn't on this team. It would be nice if she played with multiple people who could score the ball. I figured she would probably play some 4 at times to provide some depth there. Anyhow, off topic.

Hopefully Clarke isn't too injured. We need her.

How did Jones look? I saw she got some PT and some points. Happy for her.

Clarke's been playing with it but Ethridge she didn't want to play her to much and end up hurting it worse in a game like this. I agree.

Jones is one of my favorite players. She missed a couple early shots badly but she was out last year. She looked good on her other attempts. She seems like she could stretch defenses but it's going to come down to quickness. I don't know that she gets many regular minutes at this point.
