I do like the Kiwi players. High IQ and tough. She should help and compliment Villa.

Highlights are highlights, but looks like she has good court awareness and some real nice assists. Looked at a few box scores from last season. She started some, came off the bench some, scored well in some games, not at all in others.

I scanned game logs as well. I noticed a lot of her higher minutes games earlier in the season she seemed to struggle. Maybe suggests conditioning? Lower minute games against Kentucky and Oregon State she was very efficient. Last 5 games of the year she averaged about 31 minutes and started the last 4 games. First 4 games she was 16-26 from the field. The last game 3 for 13.

It's a bit of a mixed bag but she seems solid. Grain of salt with highlights but I saw good court awareness as well and she had an eFG% of 51% for the season. Conference USA is similar to the WCC.

Doubt they are done and the portal doesn't close until next week.

If I understand correctly, the portal closes next week for players entering the portal. If a player has entered the portal, they still can transfer to another school right up to next season. So, Coach Ethridge can still acquire transferring players all through the spring and summer.

Yup, we have seen players go in right at the end. The current roster looks pretty solid right now, but that can change.

Ethridge isn’t done. Hope we get older but a 4-type is needed.

Kyra Gardner's not going too far. Transfers to Idaho.

Yup, Gardner should get a lot of shots. Idaho picked up a couple USF players as well. They could challenge in the Big Sky.

That was the grand plan? Put in a couple of years at WSU as a stepping stone to Idaho?

The portal is a two-edge sword, and for every "upgrade" there are equal numbers of "downgrades". With no first-hand knowledge I would venture that Gardner was getting a little buzz for her strong finish to the season, but once in the portal discovered that there simply wasn't a spot for her, and ended up at a lower level team 8 miles from Pullman. The transfers so far have been two upgrades (Auburn, Oregon), a lateral move (Oregon State), a downgrade (Idaho). I would imagine Alice Dart drops as well. That would be a pretty typical result. I would guess that Gardner didn't get great advice, but the portal shines so bright it is hard to fault her.

Does this mean she will the number one pick in the WNBA draft in a few years like Cam. Miami has long had a pipeline to WSU going all the way back to Sam Jankovic, Dennis Erickson, etc.
