Selections on ESPN now. Creme has had us a 10-seed for some time. We did enough to get in and I think we can win some games after getting some much needed rest.

Go Coug's!

End up a 9 seed against USF (aq). In the bracket with #1 seed in the Tournament in NC State.

Amazing accomplishment. Who knows if this leads to continue success or not. Pac-12 is a grind but to break a 30 year drought is amazing.

That is awesome!

I figured I would take a joy ride on a flying saucer before this years team would make the tourney had you told me that before the season started.

What great coaching and persistence and perseverance from the kids.

I turned on ESPN at the stated time and it was some bs NBA basketball...so I missed the selection show...but happy nonetheless.

We will have been off over 2 weeks when we play. I'm hoping for a few things. That's enough time to get our legs back and we get the attention of some recruits for next year. Also hoping KL-W enjoys the experience enough to give it another go next year especially with Cherilyn Molina now gone.

Me too.

Speaking of Molina, have you heard anything?

That just seems unusual with no word.

Molina is back in Hawaii. I hear for personal reasons which could be nearly anything.

SID confirmed she is gone for good. I could see other changes coming but time will tell.

30 years is a generation. I hope the 2 weeks off recharges their batteries. They haven't been the same team that they were early on, of late. Not sure why that is, fatigue or the conference figured out how to beat us, i.e. don't let CLW beat you, but they need to get that old spark back to make a run, and have a shot at NCSt. Having the time off certainly won't hurt in that department.

Thanks Rich! Good listen. I actually forgot we played USF in Daugherty's last year 45-82. We scored 0 in the 1st quarter and 8 in the 2nd. They were top 20 at the time but when you have Hristova, Molina, Lou Brown, etc. that's still somewhat shocking. Well, the past is past.

As Ethridge said, not a lot of length, but not ultra-quick like an Arizona either. They look pretty skilled though and wondered if SC was somewhat comparable to USF? Of course we lost both games to them this year.

Probably comes down to 3s. Neither team shoots extremely well but both take a lot. We definitely need to keep the starters out of foul trouble. Hopefully get a good game from Bella' inside. I could see someone like Michaela Jones or Jessica Clarke being wildcards for us in this game. If either can get open looks it could give some unexpected scoring off the bench..

Getting a Tournament would be so huge for us!

It really is curious. Her leaving had an affect on the team, she was the teams 6th best player and was improving. She was so fast. I think many of us have ideas, but all they are, are guesses.

Her sister Celena is still on the team. So, I don't think she had a falling out with the coaches. I don't think it is an issue with her family in Hawaii, as her sister is still here. Whatever it is, I hope that she is OK.

+1

I'm really psyched for this team- definitely the biggest thing since Soccer got to the final 4 (although VB could also have a huge season). I'm also very bummed about Molina- she was such an excellent change of pace and was what we were missing during that losing streak. The "personal reasons" must be severe to quit the team and be taken off of the roster. I know nothing about this situation, but 98% of the time when players leave it is due to playing time....

The PAC as a whole is so competitive in WBB that it is hard to really know how a team that finishes near the middle of the league will look against a team who did great in a smaller eastern league. We will find out.
