UW tried to overplay and face guard our guards and after adjusting it wasn't much of a game. Ula Motuga made them pay for leaving her in the first half. We have played much better with her in the starting lineup the last few games. Better interior play and allows Hristova to move back to a more natural spot.

Molina continues to have a great impact on the game.

Molina has really blossomed under the tutelage of Coach Kami.

New coaching and per an earlier post, I suspect her knee is fully healed and she is more confident in her movements.
Looking forward to seeing what Coach Ethridge does with this program. I sense she might be another Jen Greeny and has the Lady Cougs competing at a high level soon.

Yep, all of the Molina's are doing quite well. Takes a bit to come back from that type of injury and its why the women have a couple of extra scholarships as its so common.

Women are playing with more discipline on offense, moving with more purpose, making less screwy passes--all indicative of better coaching. Defense is also being coached. This is new. Pressuring inside completely new. Getting bigger underneath will be key in getting this team to another level.

Good points, indeed, but make no mistake: this is one sh!tty husky women's BB program right now.

True, but the Lady Cougs also beat a good AZ team last week.
With the transfers (Brown, McClure, Washington), they are so reserve limited they look like the Fife and Drum Corp marching onto the floor.
It’s going to be fun watching Ethridge build this team. They’re getting the basics down, just need to add some bodies and size, which she did in the recent recruiting class. Don’t tell Flatland, but maybe she can also recruit a quality grad transfer.
I realize they are secondary to most, but I truly enjoy watching the success of women’s Volleyball, Soccer, and now what I believe will be a competitive women’s B’ball program.

We have struggled against teams with athletic bigs. It might take her some time but Bella Murekatete will definitely help.

We have a shot to get 2 against the mountain schools if we keep playing like we have the last couple weeks.

We’re missing McClure’s defensive presence.
She’s a rebounder and defender, although she was offensively challenged. She’s starting and averaging nearly 7 boards and 2.5 blocks for a good New Mexico team
She would have made a big difference as scoring is not a problem with Hristova, Molina, and Swedlund.

I don't understand how they got so crappy so quick. From the sweet 16 in 2017 to 7 wins after their coach left? And as bad or worse this year?

Final Four in ‘16’. Neighbors left for Arkansas after ‘17’ season and Plum graduated.
Hope they stay Tia Jackson bad for a long-time.

Definitely and Lou Brown (acl not-with-standing) would have provided offense. I think Kayla Washington might have fit the best with what Ethridge seems to want in terms of all-around play on both ends of the court. With the transfers Johanna Muzet was expected to start but looks like they are redshirting her after the injury. We could have been a very different team but it is what it is.

They lost a bunch of transfers after Neighbors departed as well including Ari McDonald who is having a great year for Arizona.
