We landed an in state guy

Can't wait to have another crap narrative created from thin air from a certain football camp "business person" about WSU's in-state recruiting...

Regardless, excited to have another commit aboard that wants to be a Coug.

Further research leads me to believe it's not Faaiu and instead a DL.
Seems like we have a good shot with Faaiu though. When I saw your original post he was the guy I was thinking.

Is he definitely projected to OG? Seemed to move pretty well for his size.

This certain businessman is pleased because one of his kids ended up in the P5 when his next best offer was Wyoming.

Looking at his film, he's a high motor guy who is bigger, faster, stronger than his opponents. Reminds me of a mountain west player who lives in the weight room for four years and gets drafted on day 3. The x-factor is how he adjusts to playing against guys who are fast enough to keep up with him or strong enough to keep from being overpowered.

All I can say is that your “x-factor” applies to pretty much every recruit.

And.....if he ends up being a DL drafted on day 3, I’ll take it! It’s been a while since we have had very many DL drafted, day 3, or at all.

I don't know about his posted 40. It might of been (and most likely) a one time thing, but he looks faster than the 4.76 listed. He might run in the lower 4.6's on a regular basis. How about one of those big linebackers in the 4-2-5?

Well, I don't think his film is showing at normal play speed. Everyone looks NFL fast. He does look faster than the other players on the field. I'll trust the measurables for now.

Looks like a solid kid. Not spectacular, but certainly some potential. I like the grades...it is rare to find that GPA in a kid that lacks work ethic. And work ethic will be his friend for the next 5 years (I'm assuming a redshirt).

He could be engulfed by a bigger player at his size for sure. He would do well as a Speed D kid where he never took on a block head up and his sole focus was sprinting thru gaps to make tackles.

He does a lot of things. His best position may be as a H Back. Can block/hit, catch the ball, athletic enough to motion around, play him as a FB... He has tools.

Not all guys are going to be superstars, but solid contributors are great too - sounds like he's going to see a solid contributor (I haven't watched his tape, but reading on here, seems like most are aligned).

And you're correct about that certain businessman. If I was on staff, I personally wouldn't waste time working with him, but there's a reason I'm not in coaching or on staff, lol.

I don't trust measurables when a kid has one shot on a specific day to run.

I have always agreed with this. People often spout off numbers as believing that is what that person will always run. It could have been a great day. It could have been a bad day. It could have been an average day.

My youngest daughter runs track and PR’d in the 200 last week by over half a second. It was one of those days.
