The press conference is scheduled somewhere from 1/6 through 1/10. Controlling the narrative used to be a thing. Narratives last about 5 minutes nowadays before people move onto something else.
Do you think that’s good timing if true? Terrible. How long did it take Wake to announce Dickert?
Yeah, it’s not optimal. I kinda’ assume Pullman being a ghost town this time of year probably played into the timing. Not exactly the kind of energy you want for a first presser.
Yes, we should emulate WF because they have been such an athletic success. Besides, WF didn't have to announce anything because Dickert was tweeting from the plane that he was WF bound.
My point is we need to move quickly. He needs to recruit kids to stay and get aggressive in the portal to backfill all the lost roster spots....which is a big number.

At this point there are prob 2 kinds of kids… Those that have NIL deals in place and those that don’t. Those that don’t prob arent going to help you anyways. Those that do are prob going to at least hear the new HC out.

The OL is weak. There is no knock back, muscle them out of the way, make a hole players. DickTurd’s strength coach has failed the kids entirely. They aren’t strong at all. And after years of that shit strength program, how do you fix it? The time lost is exactly that.
What is Eck gonna do? If the qb from SDSU is coming, he should leave. If I had 1 yr left the last thing Im gonna do is find myself in a brand new scheme, with a brand new coach, that brought a qb with him the knows the scheme. I wave good bye.

Love Edson. Who else saw him downfield making tackles from behind on WRs? He’s the only one out there who chased anyone down after they got past him once.
Probably would have done just as well letting him play DB in the second half. He would have covered as effectively as Colson did, and would have shown more effort in doing it.
I thought Roff actually had a great game the other day. When he's in any game, he seems to disrupt sh!t a lot of the time. He sort of reminds me of Matt Mullennix (when he wasn't hurt). That dude was an absolute beast when healthy.
So we agree that WSU should be doing a presser ASAP on the hire? I'd be doing it today. And I'd get him on the local PR circuit as well.
In terms of PR, I would also get a few events where we can "meet the new coach" and hear his vision for the program.

Or, you could have an unofficial first and an official at a later date with all the pomp and circumstance.

You want to do a Zoom call with admin, family, and whatever holdovers players are left in a Zoom gallery? He’s hired. Sound like he is bringing his staff. He can work. First pressers are overrated, but again not enough people are in Pullman to have one.
I don't care when he speaks. right now I want him talking to our current players selling his thoughts on how he will run the program. Reaching out to the recruits and hitting the portal to fill all the holes that have been created due to NIL. And I want him to sign the best strength and conditioning staff he can find.
Yeah this is what’s needed more than a presser. Get him air time to talk about where he wants to take the program.
He’s currently doing that with the actual people that matter, the recruits and portal players. As much as we like the public facing thing, they are working 23 hrs a day to shore things up. From what I read, local outlets with close ties reached out for interviews with him and he said he had so little time he couldn’t do 15-30 min interviews.
Here is what WSU put out. I'm actually pretty open-minded on the hire the more I read on him, but I am still upset WSU (Schulz) reneged on how he'd invest in football.
