Our OL has also done a bang up job. Coach Miller has really done a great job.
In pass protection you couldn't ask for much more. Honestly Minshew only had what, 3 or 4 dropbacks where he had to move around a little or throw before he wanted to? He was as comfortable as could be against the 2nd best sack unit in the conference.

Miller has been an improvement over McGuire. Also, Spurrier has been an improvement over Sage, plus Claeys is at least an equal to Grinch.

Claey has done a pretty damn good job. Phelps the best. Right WSU is playing without Oguayo and Moore. Luvu is in the nfl and we lost a first team all American. Then 3 weeks to the season we lose a JT tackle. Right now he’s playing Bregg and Comfort who we thought would never see the field. There really is no reason why the dline is serviceable right now. If you look at everything the defense has replaced and yet can still function as decent unit is really unbelievable. Getting Peyton back was a difference maker.

So Oguayo did not play at all.
Need both Harper and him back as soon as possible.
The other walk on (Block ?) did a decent job as a fill in but Oguayo brings a pass rush at a different level.

I agree and have thought the same things as you. The players that the coaches thought were going to play defensive line are either injured or gone. Claeys and the defensive staff have done an amazing job.

I have cringed a few times when I have read people trash our defense. It is not great, but considering all that has happened with the missing players, it has been outstanding.

The Cougar defense is 14th in the country in yards per game and 9th in passing yards per game.

Claeys is doing a great job. The communication in the secondary is much improved from last year. Grinch was ok, but don't forget games vs. Arizona and CAl last year where we couldn't stop anyone. Grinch is facing some major heat after last night's OSU secondary debacle vs. Purdue. In fact, their secondary has had issues all year.

Phelps deserves a Broyles Award nomination
