Here is the recap from the WSU athletic communications office:

PULLMAN, Wash. –
The Washington State soccer team defeated Eastern Washington, 3-1, in an exhibition match at WSU’s Lower Soccer Field, Sunday night.

“It’s good to get the win,” Cougar Head Coach Todd Shulenberger said. “We came out and scored a couple of nice goals. I wasn’t happy with the goal we gave up, but overall it was good to get everyone minutes. We’ll get back to the drawing board and get ready for next Friday.”

The Cougars scored early with a goal in the seventh minute, before following with a game-winning goal in the 16th minute. Both goals came during the run of play. The Eagles responded just before the half, with a goal in the 44th minute to enter the break trailing, 2-1.

WSU came out strong in the second half and was able to secure the victory with a 50th-minute goal to extend the lead to 3-1. In total, WSU took 21 shots to Eastern’s five, and earned a pair of corner kicks in the match.

Washington State opens its 2015 season at Seattle, Friday, Aug. 21 at 7 p.m. The Cougars will return to Pullman for their home-opener against Idaho, Sunday, Aug. 23 at 7 p.m.

Looks as if they dominated the match, but didn't finish well. They should take care of Idaho as well. Then, we begin to see how good this team is.

We should get a glimpse of the quality sooner than that. Their next game is this Friday at Seattle U. Seattle U. is the team that knocked them out of the playoffs last year and did so in Pullman. Unless something happens unexpectedly I plan to attend. That contest should give a better indication of the team's ability than Eastern, who appeared to be considerably overmatched. I am anxious to see how they look. We have had a short series of fairly good women's soccer coaches and I am curious as to how the new one does. So far, so good.
