Typical frustrating 2nd half but we recovered. Ist team to beat SMU at home this year. Nice win. On to BYU.

Very impressive 12 point 75 to 63 win by WSU, over #1 seed SMU on the ROAD, where SMU hasn't lost a home game in over a year, according to announcers.
Even tho WSU had some bad turnovers, quick, missed 3's, etc, SMU, was semi responsible for some of that, as SMU really got after it, solid interior D, great hustle, improved rebounding, great press, etc, that gave WSU's offense fits, SEMI ALMOST SEMI FORCED WSU into rushed mistakes, turnovers, rush last second semi covered 3's, jumpers, outside shots.
SMU has a LOT of speed, athleticism, quickness, etc, and is extremely good.

WSU didn't play that bad in 2nd half. A lot of that was SMU. WSU did ok in weathering the expected SMU run. And SMU is extremely good, probably as good, almost as good, better almost better then BYU.
And because of how awesome WSU played the first half, that helped WSU win the game.
And altho BYU is very good, a lot of BYU's wins were against average to above average, mediocre, non con teams, WCC, teams. They lost to teams like Santa Clara, St. Mary's, etc, which is why they didn't make the NCAA tournament, got semi somewhat snubbed, and were on the NCAA bubble.
WSU played good enough to not only beat SMU, but BYU, as well, or at least to take BYU to the wire and either just barely win or lose.
That said, even if WSU plays good defense, rebounds, doesn't turn ball over, shoots free throws well, etc, if WSU shoot extremely bad from field, 3 point range, etc, BYU probably wins, beats WSU if that happens.
But I like WSU's chances, odds of beating, winning vs BYU, based on how WSU has played in the NIT so far.
BYU ended behind Santa Clara in the WCC. Not sure why they were higher seeded than us. Playing in Provo is always an issue but I like our chances.
This, that play is a POSTER play on, about WHY Efe according to former college, NBA player ESPN announcers, Former NBA players, NBA Global Academy Coach, ex NBA player, that say EFE has NBA semi raw, freakish Athleticism, NBA POTENTIAL, PROSPECT to make NBA, etc.
That was a NBA quality, level highlight reel play, dunk, posterization.
For comparison, context, Shawn Kemp made a very similar play, dunk, posterization, over Sam Bowie, against Golden State in the NBA playoffs.
Shawn Kemp drove to the hoop, then exploded, took off from just barely past freethow line, skyed up, and Dunked over Sam Bowie, Posterized him.
Similarly Efe took a couple, few dribbles, then exploded, Skywalked up and Dunked over the defender, Posterized him, and also drew the foul, which Kemp did not draw foul.
Efe is like how Shawn Kemp was as a rookie out of highschool.
Kemp was extremely RAW, EXTREMELY ATHLETIC, and semi struggled at times to average about 6 to 8 to 10 ppg his rookie season.
If Efe went to the NBA, he would probably average about 3 to 5 to 7 ppg, an about 3 to 5 to 7 rebounds per game, 1,2 blocks per game, 1 steal per game, good defense, kinda just like Kemp did, his first year in NBA.
To make NBA Efe needs to continue to develop, get experience, polish his game, develop post moves like Dischon Jackson, face up and drive, pass better, not turn ball over as much, continue to shoot well from freethrow line, develop a 3 point shot, develop a midrange jumper, hook shot, up and under, ball fakes, etc.
