We have 5 more spots to fill between now and signing day. Credit to the coaches, they are keeping all this stuff close to the chest. Here's a summary of what we know:
1) Hunter Hill had the opportunity to sign in December, but didn't. Typically this is a sign one or both sides is looking around. I figure this is a coinflip, and if we see offers going out to HS lineman... Well you can guess what this means for Hill.
2) With Powell's decommitment and the offer to JC lineman Jimmy Price, we have a clear plan for this ticket. We are the only P5 offer Price has, and we provide a chance to win a starting job, so we are the favorite. Should other schools get involved and beat us out, I'm guessing we go to the next JC OL on our board.
3) Dejon Benton's last minute decommitment left us searching for bulk in the middle. Nose tackle is a must. We haven't offered many of these guys who fit the bill. Phelps is sniffing around in the Carolinas for some talent, but no offers yet. Would be shocking if we didn't land another DL though.
4-5) This is where spots on long snappers or a handful of JC DB's start to get annoying. WSU has plenty of needs and we are struggling to fill them with two spots.
DL depth, particularily guys who can play inside.
A RB with experience to make up for the departure of Boobie.
A HS DB who can contribute in a couple of years.
A Grad transfer QB who can take the reigns of the team.
Another WR to give depth for two years down the road (losing 4 WR on scholarship next year, 5 if Tay goes pro), as we only took 2 this year.
