4 star TE verbals

Look at the offer list. 4 stars are being handed out like Halloween candy now.
Copying my post from another thread.........

In other news, Cougs signed yet another Jackrabbit transfer, TE Beau Baker, who was injured in 2024. Not sure how 24/7 ever had him ranked as a 4-star recruit, although SDSU did fend off powerhouse FBS - oops - middling and doormat NAIA programs Cumberlands and Kentucky Christian when they signed him last year.

I do like 6'7" and 245 lbs in a TE.

Dallas Goedert & Tucker Kraft are two of the best TEs in the NFL and both played for SDSU. There were 8 SDSU players on active rosters in 2024. WSU had 12.

I don't think anyone is popping the champagne on Jimmy Rogers at this stage of the game, but the SDSU players we're bringing in are in-line with the players we've historically recruited. He's also signed more OL/DL kids than Dickert did throughout his entire tenure.

If he sucks, we'll get rid of him.

As of January 2025, several South Dakota State University players are currently on NFL rosters. Here are some of the notable players:

  • Dallas Goedert: A tight end for the Philadelphia Eagles, drafted in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft.
  • Tucker Kraft: A tight end for the Green Bay Packers, drafted in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft.
  • Pierre Strong: A running back for the New England Patriots, drafted in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft.
  • Mason McCormick: An offensive lineman for the Pittsburgh Steelers, drafted in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft.
  • Isaiah Davis: A running back for the New York Jets, drafted in the fifth round of the 2024 NFL Draft.
  • Christian Rozeboom: An offensive lineman for the Denver Broncos, though not directly listed as a South Dakota State alumnus, he played collegiately there.
  • Chris Steveler: An offensive lineman for the Indianapolis Colts, though not directly listed as a South Dakota State alumnus, he played collegiately there.
  • C.J. Ham: A running back for the Minnesota Vikings, though not directly listed as a South Dakota State alumnus, he played collegiately there.
  • Jack Cochrane: A defensive back for the Kansas City Chiefs, though not directly listed as a South Dakota State alumnus, he played collegiately there.
  • Dennis Gardeck: A linebacker for the Arizona Cardinals, though not directly listed as a South Dakota State alumnus, he played collegiately there.
These players represent a strong presence of South Dakota State University alumni in the NFL.

when did C.J. play for SDSU?
He didn't. He played at (as you already know fro) at Augustana University in Sioux Falls. Only 57 miles from the SDSU campus in Brookings, so I understand the confusion. Not. These geographical confusions are similar to Pullman being in the Midwest. Can't wait to hear reports from our new FB players after they scale Kamiak Mountain and Mount Steptoe.
