Alabama's DC interview

Interesting read. Coaching and recruiting may be becoming a younger mans game even more than it had been. Sad because I think development and game day coaching will suffer.
Agreed. When I hear his voice, hear his reactions to how it is going, I see why CML has young men (relative I guess) in the positions he has. Young position coaches allow relationships to build (more like friends to the players, not father figures), they're more in tune with the generation that is being recruited… I get it.

The only thing I can see is, so many of the programs still have the older guys at the top of the hierarchy. It's almost like they've built it so that the players are the kids, the position coaches are the older cousins, the DC and coach (or whatever) are the father figures. So hopefully in that regard, those development and game day coaching portions of the game won't be hurt as much.
